TIME Magazine reports that Egyptians "remain convinced that President Obama is backing the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed President Mohamed Morsi."
Speaking on August 22, the head of Egypt's Social Democratic Party Mohamed Abou El-Ghar said: "America is losing Egypt... There is a very strong perception that they are supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and they are against other parties."
El-Ghar said this perception began growing when Senator John McCain (R-AZ) met with representatives from the Muslim Brotherhood in February 2012 but would not meet with with representatives from other parties. He said the perception "was furthered" when U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson "criticized Egypt's military" for deposing Morsi in July.
On the day El-Ghar was interviewed, that perception was strengthened when State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki reiterated the Obama administration's call for the release of Morsi.

IIRC, Jarrett is Iranian-born.
I don’t know why any Arabs are surprised by this. He did say in the early days of his pres!dency that he would go with the Muslim side in all conflicts. When it’s Muslim vs. Muslim, it stands to reason that he would go with the side with Muslim built into the name.

If he isn't he should join. Or better yet, the MB should acknowledge that he has secretly been named an Honorary Member.
Support for the Muslim Brotherhood is the one real constant in what passes for Obama's Foreign Policy.
Look at Egypt where he openly supported Morsi. Look at Syria where he backs the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda dominated rebels. Look at Libya where the Muslim Brotherhood, shut out of the political process for decades, now holds 17 seats in the legislature and the position of Deputy Prime Minister.
Obama, at heart a Sunni Muslim, is the Muslim Brotherhood's best friend.

Valerie Jarrett is clearly a supporter of the MB, along with Obama and virtually everybody else in Obama’s inner circle.
I would think she’s somewhat like Obama: a product of a somewhat confused life, with leftist parents - her father was a very light-skinned black man who was a medical doctor, which was why they went to Iran. Her mother was a teacher who seems to have been considered black (because she came from generations of politically important, light-skinned blacks in Chicago) but you would certainly not know it to look at her.
While the family came back from Iran long before the Islamist attacks there, I have always felt that Valerie Jarrett was basically a person without a country, just like Obama.
So I think Jarrett, like Obama, is out there trying to get her street creds for being black despite appearances and history. She is also a follower, I’m sure, of the Franz Fanon school of Marxist hatred for the West.
Since any enemy of their enemy (the US) is their friend, I’d say Bammy and Valerie probably spend their nights trying to learn a few Islamic catchphrases and a bit of the black gang-sign lexicon.
The US is being used as the personal therapeutic treatment for the current sociopathic president and most of his highly neurotic cabinet.
Any real American has that same perception.
Obama is indeed helping the Muslim Brotherhood.
He said he would and he does.
