Unemployment is not getting better, its getting worse.
Even the establishment media is taking notice.
Widely followed pollster Gallup puts the nation's unemployment rate at an ugly 8.6 percent in August, reports CNBC, a startling jump from the 7.8 percent the organization recorded for July. When counting the underemployed, the rate zooms to 17.7 percent, off its 2013 high of 18.2 percent.
If you count in those who have dropped out of the work force, you get closer to 24 percent unemployment.
Gee, and all this time I thought that the job situation was getting better.
Thats what we were told.
This time we mean it, The recovery is finally here, We tried capitalism, and it didnt work, We tried our plan, and it worked, Obama killed Osama with his bare hands, and Does my head look big with this teleprompter?
In the U.S. the number of employed has only grown by 922,000 people since July of last year. And as many have noticed, over 70 percent of those jobs are part time.
The growth of the labor force itself has slowed so much that it has caused the BLS to revise previous projection of the growth of the labor force through 2012-2025 from 0.9 percent annually to 0.8 percent annually, according to HousingWire.
And dont get me started in GDP. GDP actually reflects the poor state of the economy. Despite what liberals want you to believe companies want to hire workers. But they hire workers only when they think theyll make more money from it.
A consequence of the poor jobs environment is that GDP has suffered.
Since 2008, growth in GDP has posted about a 0.6 percent average annual rate or 3 percent over five years.
That compares with the historical average long-term rate of 3.28 percent.
In a way the GDP numbers epitomizes Obamas economic philosophy: Hes managed to squeeze a whole years worth of economic activity into five years and counting.
There are over million Californians who today remain unemployed, many of whom are still jobless after using up 99 weeks of unemployment benefits made available by the state and federal government according to an article by the San Diego Union Tribune.
In total, there are 1,044,000 Californians who have used up all of the weekly checks, writes UTSanDiego.com, the state Employment Development Department announced this week. At one point a person could receive up to 99 weeks of unemployment insurance through a series of federal extensions.
There are another million Californians who are receiving benefits because they cant find jobs.
And thats why the Republican National Committee calls Obama a lame duck. Obama and his Democrats friends have been ducking the really tough issues like jobs.
Theyre ducking those problems because they have no answers.
This is the Democrats economy. Its everything they asked for.
They got nationalized healthcare, they got the auto bailout, they got the pork barrel spending we call stimulus. They also got the opportunity to put a million electric vehicles on the road.
They invested in solar, in unions, in government. And still, theyve produced the worst recovery ever.
Strike that.
Its because they got nationalized healthcare, and they got the auto bailout, and they got the pork barrel spending we call stimulus; plus they got the opportunity to put a million electric vehicles on the road; AND because they invested in solar, in unions and in government that we have the worst recovery ever.
From 1932 to 1937, during the Great Depression the GDP of the United States grew 25 percent or at an annual average rate or 5 percent per annum. Yet the average government spending was about 15 percent of GDP during that period. Today, government spending is nearly 40 percent of GDP and we are getting about 1/10th of the return that our grandfathers enjoyed.
Theres a connection between unemployment and GDP.
Its starts with bad investment decisions.
Imagine that: Politicians making bad investment decisions.
The best decision that we can make as a counter is getting politicians to make no investment decisions at all.
I’m looking forward to the day when the US runs out of money to subsidize the unemployed. Then things will get really interesting for the ruling class.
This is the Democrats economy. Its everything they asked for.
If Americans get to see Obama own these issues and the Democrats economy played out to the inevitable worst case outcome it will have justified his re-election in some small way (not sure I could say that being unemployed, though...)
There are the unemployed and there are the welfare moochers. Are some people in both camps? Sure. Are the majority of the unemployed part of the permanent or semi-permanent “gimme, gimme” class? Hard to say. Offer them a job at $8 or $9 an hour and it’s easier to separate the sheep from the goats. I worked at two different states’ unemployment offices for a total of about 15 years and with every week they were unemployed you could see their morale go down, and that was during low unemployment. Today’s situation is about 10X worse than then. When the food stamps, TANF, section 8 and Obamaphones give out, then you’ll see real rioting.

It sure is
Wait 'til the EBT cards stop working at the 7-11's.

17-24% sounds right to me. I'm in my 50s, and I've NEVER seen so many people in my extended family unemployed, especially for YEARS.
Even during the Carter recession, few members of my extended family were unemployed, and those who lost their jobs usually found a new job within six months.
There is no need to look down on people who are unemployed.
Now on the other side it's a different story for those who habitually file for unemployment, because the can make more money including getting food stamps instead of looking for jobs and taking what they can get
Look at all the framers and workers who are jobless in California due to not getting irrigation water due to the effin Delta smelt and other minnows
Blame the eco-wacko libs in the big cities.
farmers not framers
I see signs on gas stations that say EBT cards accepted. I have no problem if they are accepted for purchases to get the car filled up, but for cigarettes, etc Noway

I suspect that the underground economy has far more rapidly than the reported economy. The underground economy will continue to gain strength as long as our borders are as porous as they are now. Obamacare will also insure further growth of the underground economy.
“Im looking forward to the day when the US runs out of money to subsidize the unemployed. Then things will get really interesting for the ruling class.”
We have a while to go. Up to now we’ve only had redistribution of income. The assault on accumulated assets will begin soon. Already progressive academics and think tanks are spitting out papers about going after the 401K and IRA plans of the middle class. First step will be to protect the money from the ravages of the stock market. They’ll sweep the money into “protected” individual Social Security accounts invested in “safe” government bonds paying a “guaranteed’ 2 or 3%. Then, once they have the money in Social Security we’ll start hearing about fairness. The media and Democrat politicians will complain it isn’t “fair” some people have these special accounts while others don’t. Eventually there will be a clamor for Congress to pass a law taking the money in the individual accounts to make the Social Security system solvent for all.
No doubt we’ll be hearing calls to have inherited wealth taxed at 100% as well in the name of fairness. It isn’t fair for someone to receive a windfall when there are hungry people on the street or children to send to college.
Once the middle class is completely stripped of assets the wealthy, who have been funding the socialists for a century, will finally find themselves in the bullseye. The Hollywood elites earning tens of millions per year and living in fabulous home will find themselves the target of the fairness argument as will the millionaires and billionaires who have more than the need (Obama talks about “more than they need” frequently). When the truly wealthy come under attack they’ll find little sympathy from the impoverished former members of the middle class. In fact the masses will be cheering to have the wealthy enjoy the misery.
-——Politicians making bad investment decisions.———
that sentence indicates the writer has no clue about what is happening. The democrats did not make poor invettment decisions, they invested the looted treasury in them selves. America is being looted.
The Democrat party is a criminal enterprise.
Off with their heads....... let the tumbrels roll
