A man was shot Thursday night near Copley Square in the Back Bay, startling passersby who stopped to stare at the crime scene on one of Bostons most iconic and frequently visited stretches.
The shooting occurred just before 11:10 p.m. on the 500 block of Boylston Street, steps from a large water fountain and in the shadow of the historic Trinity Church.
Boston police Superintendent William Gross said at the scene that the unidentified victim, believed to be in his late 20s or 30s, was shot in the chest.

It’s not gun crime. It is BLACK crime.
Because as we saw with the 88 yo vet, they did not use guns but the common denominator was blacks who did the killing.
Race of perp — check.

“Race of perp check.
Race of vic? Unknown from article.”

missed me!
Near the finish of the Boston Marathon.
Why all these Scandinavian references?
"Boston police Superintendent William Gross said at the scene that the unidentified victim, believed to be in his late 20s or 30s, was shot in the chest. Officers found him lying in the middle of the street, and he was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition early Friday, Gross said."
The web page header says "Man seriously wounded in shooting" while the headline says "One Dead in Shooting Near Copley Square"
I guess they laid off the editors.
“Boston police is urging anyone who may have information about the shooting to contact police.”
This is a line from a TV station posted earlier. Shouldn’t it be “are”? A capital P for police would make it one unit and therefore “is” would be appropriate or am I wrong? Maybe the grammar experts can opine.
I think they are trying to imitate the Brits who do strange things with "is" and "are."
