look the old timer smoking is a fire hazard to teh oter old people

I am sorry he is having a hard time, buthe can’t smoke inside.

It is probably a health hazard to the old people with COPD

So, he needs to quit or smoke outside.

Nicorette gum

Exception on the basis that he is old and war veteran doesn’t counterbalance the risk of him setting something on fire since he is so old

From the article: Doyle provided pictures of other tenants smoking within 10 feet of buildings and questioned whether they were also facing eviction.

I believe the term is called "constructive endorsement" or similar. It is a valid defense in many Homeowner's Association Covenant infractions. Say if chain link fences aren't allowed but several homeowners have them, or boats are allowed but the rule is ignored by some and tacitly allowed or overlooked.

However, this being a government-subsidized complex, I doubt they would prevail; the two government pukes running the place have no soul. About the only place you'll see "free cheese" is in a government handout line, or in a mousetrap.....same difference.

Somebody get him a fake cigarette. (e-cigarette?) That way there is no fire hazard, and no secondhand smoke to offend anybody.

I’ll buy him an e-cig setup if he’ll quit smoking inside and they’ll allow it.

the habit he picked up 70 years ago, thanks in part to Uncle Sam, “

...yep. It was Sam’s fault. Why isn’t the press stressing the fact that this man is a warmonger and a drain on society. Where are the bored “youths”? He’s the white devil! Or hasn’t anybody noticed that yet?

Newington was establish first by farmers and 2nd by WWI & II vets returning to areas like Hartford and New Britain looking to the burbs for a place to raise a family.
Both my parents were representative of those people.
The scum bags at the housing authority would more than likely fail a 2 or 3 question quiz on these wars which is why the country as a whole is where its at.

Leave these elderly people alone.

I’m surprised the smoking didn’t kill him years ago.

Can they perhaps get him a wheelchair so he can wheel himself the required 10 feet away from the building? Does this place have handicapped ramps? Whether he’s a veteran or not, rules are rules. Sometimes the rules are absurd, but still, if people start making exceptions for this person or that person, etc. what’s the point of having rules?

Mr. Nowiki has at least two disabilities, lack of mobility and an addiction. Call ADA. Karp and Harvey have a legal responsibility to aid a person with disabilities, ie an electric scooter, a sheltered ramp, and a sheltered smoking area. Of course Mr. Nowicki will need someone to assist with his scooter. Come on Mr. Lawyer, lay it on Karp and Harvey.
I smoked Luckies in the old green and white pack from C-rats. Does anyone else remember LSMFT? loose straps and all that? :-)
