Jimmy Durante - Young At Heart 1954
Songwriters: Carolyn Leigh, Johnny Richards Fairy tales can come true It can happen to you If youre young at heart. For its hard, you will find, To be narrow of mind If youre young at heart. You can go to extremes With impossible schemes; You can laugh when your dreams Fall apart at the seams; And life becomes exciting with each passing day, And love is either in your heart
or on its way. Dont you know that its worth Every treasure on earth To be young at heart? For, as rich as you are, Its much better by far To be young at heart. And, if you should survive To a hundred and five, Look at all youll derive Just by being alive! Now, here is the best part: You have a head start If you are amongst the very young
At heart. And, if you should survive To a hundred and five, Look at all youll derive Just by being alive! Now, here is the best part: You have a head start If you are amongst the very young
At heart.

Thanks, Mike, for the links. Really interesting to watch.
How did you get there for the competition?
To: Kathy in Alaska
I talk to a guy named Tom Gaylord who is a big deal in the Air Gun industry, and he told me about the comp. was coming up. I then saw the ad on the website. I submitted the on line application & photos of me shooting on my home range. I was then selected. The producers of the show contacted me to let me know. They paid for a round trip to Ft. Smith,Ark for a week [including a real nice hotel]. I got to know the producer/s pretty well & they told me that they wanted a good group of personalities for “shooting” for the show.
I am normally a loud person, & when we started on the first day, I was told that they wanted me to be over the top on my personalty, so that is what they got. The sound guy actually would pull his headphones off when I was speaking, and they would go with an area mic at a distance for my interviews. But all in all I loved it. I got to hold & shoot air guns that I only got to see in photos. Some of the targets were over 200 yards out, & easily hit with a couple of the air rifles.

Thank you for that...I was shooting for a cause, For all of us Veterans who are 100% disabled and who have to have a fiduciary, to care for our legal, & financial matters, because our judgement had been put into question & the va,dept of [IN]justice, batf have said we are unable to have a regular firearm. So I went on to show that we can shoot again.

Simply in the event that you do not remember the lyrics of the first stanza:
“Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?”
“If your mother says don’t chew it do you swallow it in spite?”
“Can you catch it on your tonsils then heave it left and right?”
“Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?”

I like Lili Marlene in German, Kaytusha in Russian, and ‘Don’t sit under the apple tree’ in English.
I guess I am a sucker for “girl I left behind” songs.
