OKLAHOMA CITY, August 13, 2013 ― The election of Senator Marco Rubio to the U.S. Senate in 2010 was a moment of celebration for the newly formed Tea Party movement as Rubio became known as the Tea Party darling.
Rubios stump speech about his familys escape from Fidel Castros Cuba never failed to bring people to their feet. The speech reminded his listeners that America is the greatest country on earth and a beacon to the worlds oppressed.
Upon being sworn in, Rubio fought hard against Obamacare and worked to get the U.S. back on the path of economic success. He took his campaign rhetoric to the Senate floor and to news talk shows.
The federal government was wrecking the economy, and Congress had lost touch with the common people. Rubio sang the Tea Partys tune, becoming the Tea Party poster child. When Mitt Romney became the GOP candidate, Tea Partyers wanted Rubio to be the vice-presidential nominee in 2012.
Rubios stance on immigration reform has now put him out of tune with the Tea Party. His participation in the gang of eight has taken him out of grace. Rather than humbly admit error and return to the fold, he went on Rush Limbaughs radio show to urge Americans to support the Senates immigration reform bill.
A friend of Rubios from his Tea Party honeymoon stage, political pundit Ann Coulter, has attacked him for his views on immigration reform. She isnt alone, but he may not care. His role in immigration reform may signify the start of his 2016 presidential campaign, and he may have decided that the Tea Party wont get him to the White House.
The conventional wisdom is that in order to win the 2016 Presidential election, Republicans must reach out to Hispanic voters...

Rubio is no longer capable of winning the top slot, but he may still be viable as a VP nominee.

FUMR!! TRAITOR!!I've always thought sleeper agent, not traitor. He's not a turncoat, because he was never one of us. All the more reason to turf him in 2016.

I know. You would think it would be an easy choice when whites, blacks, AND Hispanics are against amnesty for illegals.

Most hispanics are against amnesty. Yes, they are. But they also vote Dem, most times. It would appear shamnesty is not the issue they vote on. I think they like the welfare gibsmedat.

Donate $50,000 to a politician’s political campaign and you can get a plumb $10 million contract or a special line in the tax code that makes your business tax exempt in return yet the politicians claim there is no quid pro quo.

He's alienated me. I heard a great comment that people run for political office by telling voters that they will represent them and articulate their views in Washington. But, once they get to Washington, they see their job as representing the Beltway and articulating the views of D.C. to the folks back home.
Rubio stands in evidence as validity of that theory.
