AUGUST 20, 2013 AT 9:56 AM A draft of the next IPCC climate report has arrived, and it is more of the same: We are all gonna die!
An international panel of scientists has found with near certainty that human activity is the cause of most of the temperature increases of recent decades, and warns that sea levels could conceivably rise by more than three feet by the end of the century if emissions continue at a runaway pace. The scientists, whose findings are reported in a draft summary of the next big United Nations climate report, largely dismiss a recent slowdown in the pace of warming, which is often cited by climate change doubters, attributing it most likely to short-term factors. The report emphasizes that the basic facts about future climate change are more established than ever, justifying the rise in global concern. It also reiterates that the consequences of escalating emissions are likely to be profound.
I love the way the journalist here uses the term “climate change doubters.” Throughout the story it is applied to skeptical scientists in such a way as to imply that any doubt about these conclusions is obviously something to snicker at and to ignore.
As for the claim that the seas will rise three feet in the next 90 years, note that the level of sea rise has been consistently between 2 and 3 millimeters per year for the past half century, even as we have been pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and the climate has supposedly warmed. At 3mm per year, the seas will only rise 270 millimeters by the end of the century, or just under 11 inches, not three feet as claimed by this new IPCC report.
Even though they lied, and we know they lied, and they know that we know they lied, they are going to press on...
They all read Superman as kids and are all suffering from a massive case of Jor-El Syndrome (oh, if only the planet had listened to me, a scientific genius....)
And it relies on massaged data even more heavily than the previous ones, and is even more alarmist than the last, ignoring all data collected in the past several years showing that warming has not increased..
This would be the UN committee that has as its leader a mechanical engineer that lists as his “finest accomplishment” the completion of a public rail-system in southern India?

I live in Maryland and the taxes are horrendous thank to Democrats, and Martin O’Malley, if the tides raise 3 feet I will have waterfront property. Not sure I can afford the taxes on a piece of waterfront.
One of the climate change models in the reports predicts an increase in shootings of innocent black children by racist neighborhood watchmen.

It is what they call "the larger truth". That is that human populations are growing and using up the earth's resources at an ever increasing rate and that at some point in the future we might use them all up.
They know they don't have any proof.
Which is why we and others who discuss this issue should always refer to the junk scientists at IPCC and other AGW propagandists as "climate change alarmists." The Left is masterful at using language to win political points; we must learn to do the same.

since they believe that human action has increased global warming.
The UN who purposely ignores scientific proof that there has been NO WARMING in the last 15 years.
Funded by the UN , their own study , useing their own scientists to confirm further control
No wonder Zippey and the EPA are so concerned about micro-managing and controlling power consumption and power sources.

Since there is no "control" Earth circling on our same orbit, without its complement of humanity, there is nothing provable that can be confirmed in these speculations. Without removing humans from the equation and observing the resultant conditions, this science is just more silliness.
Some of them may actually believe it. But most of them know where the grant money comes from. Crooked politicians who find this a very convenient way to slosh money around with their crony pals.
It’s like Communism. If you live in a system like that, you don’t question it, if you know what’s good for you.
Maybe because a fourth of the houses in PG and Charles County are up for foreclosure.
Funny story the house down the street from one of my classmates. (class of 1960) was foreclosed. The washer dryer, refrigerator all were gone and there were two stolen cars in the garage.

I know a guy who’s cousin is in prison for going scorched earth his foreclosed home (ripped out all the plumbing, smashed the drywall, poured concrete in the toilets, etc.)
