NOTE THE PARTIALLY OPEN EYE on the kid on the right
Interesting, thank you for that analysis Dr. MeshugeMikey.
I had better go tell my cousins to dig up my uncle - we thought he died a few weeks ago in hospice care, and I was there, and his eyes were open. We thought the monitors and lack of pulse/response all indicated his death, but clearly we were all wrong.
I'm guessing you are young and have never been around much death. I'm glad there are still young folks out there that have never seen death up close.

For a post-tribber, your question is relevant, but for a pre-tribber, no other prophecy or any particular event has to occur before the catching up of the saints to meet the Lord in the air, and forever be with the Lord. Count me a pre-tribber... best be ready, for no man knows the day or the hour...

Here's my $0.02: So what if Assad attacked anybody with chemical weapons? I don't care if it was women and children, so what? It's not our business no matter how much McCain, Gayham, and Obama beat the drums. Syrians killing Syrians has nothing to do with us.
Not directing this at you jimjohn, I'm just stating my general view about it.

Im too years away form 70!
the open eye... but a small part of the overall picture
were these kids all gassed as they dressed after thier morning Shower ?
no dirt ..no other evidence of their having DIED
did they simply lay down to die...or perhaps they struggled and FELL...being bruised ..getting abrasions in the process?

We need to stay out of hellholes... make it simple - no more money - now or forever - if they hit us, Israel, England, France, school kids in Russia... we'll nuke 'em. Other than that they can open up their killing fields to Hollywood for snuff films for all I care...
If they have oil to sell, fine. If not, fine. We're nuts to be involved with these people.

I agree there are no “good guys” here that we should be supporting
HOWEVER
If this attack killed civilians and if it was NOT launched by Assad but really launched by the al Qaeda offshoot we the USA are inexplicably supporting in the name of...... what? “opposition”? “pro democracy”?
If the opposition is killing civilians and claiming it was done by Assad
and WE are logistically supporting that opposition
then WE are killing Syrian civilians
WTH did our Congress vote for this involvement and what is their oversight....?
Oh, wait...

I had better go tell my cousins to dig up my uncle - we thought he died a few weeks ago in hospice care, and I was there, and his eyes were open. The thing is the kid's eyes are still shiny, not clouded over yet, not that drying out look.
If the child had been dead for the length of time in which I expect, mayhem, people running around, etc, by the time you'd be identifying, and labeling the deceased..several hours later, the eyes wouldn't be shiny.
The eyes often exhibit some of the earliest postmortem changes, as a result of stoppage of capillary circulation and settling of red blood cells. If the eyes remain open, a thin film or cloud can be observed within minutes on the surface. Typically, in about two or perhaps three hours postmortem, some corneal cloudiness will often present.

I totally concur. I figure this is just yet another attempt to change the news cycle in the middle east.

Those of us who voted straight-ticket Republicans arguably did support this. We just didn't know it at the time, but we were giving the GOP a blank check for people like McCain and Gayham to get us involved, or at least support Obama into getting us involved.
And those who vote straight-ticket Republican in 2014 and 2016 will be very guilty of supporting this.
Anybody opposed to this stuff, from now on needs to only vote for Conservatives, which may mean voting third party at times.
To: jimjohn
I think Obama and his GOP allies want to get us into Syria. Arguably it’s already happening, we just don’t have US aircraft flying strikes yet.
To: silverleaf
You make a very good point, but I prefer to think that this is Saddam’s stuff.
I believe that “W” was right, and that Saddam was able to spirit it off to Syria before we invaded.
Perhaps we’ll soon know where it came FRom?
Enquiring minds are waiting for answers!

“You make a very good point, but I prefer to think that this is Saddams stuff.”
Wishful thinking on a moot point? In point of fact, Syria already posessed one of the world’s largest stockpiles of chemical weapons long before receiving Saddam’s. There’s an element of “I told you so” here in thinking any chemical weapons used are Iraq’s, but doesn’t make a difference.

Probably. But wishful in respect of finally getting to the truth of Saddam’s WMD.
