When Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol suggested on Sunday that Sarah Palin restart her political career by running for Senate, people noticed, because more than anyone else more than John McCain, the candidate who picked her as his running mate, more than Steve Schmidt, the adviser who urged McCain to do it Kristol is credited with launching Palin's career. On Tuesday, Kristol made it clear he does not want all that credit (or blame).
On MSNBC's Morning Joe, Nicolle Wallace, who was Palin's aide during the 2008 campaign, asked Kristol, "How did you feel as sort of being branded as the godfather of Sarah Palin, Inc.?" He responded, "It's not the worst thing that's ever been said about me. You know, I have a thick skin." Of his suggestion she run for Senate on Sunday, Kristol said he was not predicting or endorsing a Palin candidacy in 2014. "I was asked, 'Does Sarah Palin have a future?' and I just tried to give an analytical answer which is, I dont think she does " They don't even chat these days, he said. "I haven't been in touch with her in a year or so."
Why does Kristol get so much Palin blame? By October 2008, Palin's vice-presidential candidacy looked so disastrous that The New Yorker published an explainer for how she got to be picked as McCain's running mate in the first place. Jane Mayer pegged Kristol as the No. 1 culprit. A circle of Republican commentators had developed a political crush on Sarah Palin during a luxury cruise to Alaska in 2007, she reported. Kristol was her "most ardent promoter
and his enthusiasm became the talk of Alaska's political circles." By the summer of 2008, Kristol was campaigning for McCain to pick Palin....

My only worry is that the Republican Platform seems to be evolving into the Democratic Platform ... inch by inch, plank by plank.
My worry is that the Republican party itself, seems no longer to be for America.
We need to support American jobs, and re-industrialize our own country.
According to one chart I’ve seen, China is now a larger manufacturer than America.
And growing.
The GOP needs to be for American industry.
Come on GOP. Stand up for the tough issues.
Be for American employment.
Hmmm... The resignation thing.
Choice A) Continue receiving frivolous lawsuits and ethics complaints against herself AND her cabinet. Said lawsuits/ethics complaints had to be defended at PERSONAL expense by state law. Since the Democrats found a way to attack, they were literally driving her into debt and threatening to do the same for her staff.
Choice B) Resign and earn money to defend self against said lawsuits and ethics complaints, and stop the complaints against her staff, thus preventing the financial ruin of them.
What would you do?
Kristol doesn’t want credit, he doesn’t get it.
Amazing that Wallace even dares to show her face in the media since she was the one advising Palin and McCain and was responsible for Mccain’s losing.
These Mccain advisors are like the horror character Jason always rising from the dead.
She once claimed that she and her cohorts would’ve somehow kept Gov. Palin from being sworn-in as Vice President if McCain/Palin had won the election!
“There certainly were discussions not for long because of the arc the campaign took but certainly there were discussions about whether, if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in.”

She was the only reason I voted fro Mccain....and don’t worry, if Sarah becomes President BK will be taking full credit
I wouldn’t be surprised if she is still advising the Republicans which is why they are moving leftward.
If someone is against Sarah or Cruz or Mike Lee... I want NOTHING to do with them!
You are absolutely correct.
I doubt the republicans establishment want anyone who is conservative to win. They openly laugh at and criticize Ted Cruz, Mile Lee and other conservatives. They have become too democrat in their handling of conservative ideals. They, like democrats want to hold onto their power. Watch Rove.
“Funny, I seemed to remember a two-term President named Ronald Reagan that the exact same things were said about.”
A lot of assumptions there. Granted that Sarah Palin is Ronald Reagan, but the voters are not from the 80s. First, from what is well known, 80s America valued hard work, capitalism, and looked down upon moochers, welfares, etc. Today’s America is about easy and predictable lives, social safety net, government problem solving, reliance on the big brother, etc. Those do not bode well for conservatives or small government policies.
Secondly, 80s America was racially more white. Let’s face the facts — Palin is not going to win minority votes and whites alone will have to form a much more formidable base. That is simply not going to happen, unless voter fraud is checked and illegals are deported. Keep dreaming.
Lastly, a woman is not going to get elected either in the primary or in the general. Women cannot handle the heat in the US politics. In Pakistan, you might have women prime ministers, but not in the US. Even a ruthless and formidable woman like Hellary could not withstand. No, I do not think Sarah Palin will either.
