Fact #1: Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan with her savvy-ness can energize tens of millions of grass root tea partiers.
Fact #2: Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan either has adoring fans or loathing enemies. Everybody has an opinion about her. They either love or hate her.
Fact #3: The Republican establishment does not like Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan.
Fact #4: The liberal media has succeeded in making Palin Ronald Reagan a laughing stock among left leaning, especially media impressionable young people.

Given those facts, Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan cannot win the general election simply with the help of tea partiers — she needs the support of the Republican establishment just to keep the rabid liberals and the young people at bay. At the least, she he needs the establishment not to sabotage her. Realistically, Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan is not a general election winner.

Funny, I seemed to remember a two-term President named Ronald Reagan that the exact same things were said about.

“Funny, I seemed to remember a two-term President named Ronald Reagan that the exact same things were said about.”

A lot of assumptions there. Granted that Sarah Palin is Ronald Reagan, but the voters are not from the 80s. First, from what is well known, 80s America valued hard work, capitalism, and looked down upon moochers, welfares, etc. Today’s America is about easy and predictable lives, social safety net, government problem solving, reliance on the big brother, etc. Those do not bode well for conservatives or small government policies.

Secondly, 80s America was racially more white. Let’s face the facts — Palin is not going to win minority votes and whites alone will have to form a much more formidable base. That is simply not going to happen, unless voter fraud is checked and illegals are deported. Keep dreaming.

Lastly, a woman is not going to get elected either in the primary or in the general. Women cannot handle the heat in the US politics. In Pakistan, you might have women prime ministers, but not in the US. Even a ruthless and formidable woman like Hellary could not withstand. No, I do not think Sarah Palin will either.
