If an eccentric, liberal, nudist musician had not attended a rodeo at the Missouri State Fair a week ago Saturday, the world would be a slightly happier place. The State Fair would not have banned rodeo clown Tuffy Gessling for life. The NAACP would not have asked the Secret Service to investigate Tuffy for a "hate crime." His clown colleagues would not have been dispatched to sensitivity training. And race tension nationwide would not have ratcheted up another notch.
But the eccentric in question, Perry Beam, did attend the rodeo. He took his wife and a Taiwanese student with him. When Tuffy donned an Obama mask, Beam grew concerned.
When the crowd egged the clown on, Beam grew uneasy. But when another clown started bobbling the lips on the mask, well, that sent Beam "over the top." The student recorded it all on his video camera.
Repelled by what he had seen, the exquisitely sensitive Beam fled the fair with wife and student in tow. The normally inquisitive student asked no questions about what he had witnessed. "In a way," says Beam, "I'm glad. I had no answers for him." They rode the sixty miles home in shamed silence.
The whole affair might have ended on Beam's Facebook page had it not been for the intervention of a professor friend of Beam's, a garden variety leftist named Bob Yates. Beam gives Yates credit for forwarding the information "to the appropriate blogs" and that, says Beam, "got the ball rolling."
By 7:30 a.m. Sunday, less than twelve hours after the soon to be infamous rodeo, "MoDem," likely the nom de guerre of Yates himself, had posted a photo essay on both the Daily Kos and Show Me Progress sites.

We now need Oprah to put her two cents worth in.
There is some portion of the liberal/radical world, which seems to be perpetually outraged about something.
I wonder sometimes if such people are actually on the lookout for things to become outraged about.
And the lack of intellectual honesty is apparent. It’s okay to the liberals to hang Sarah Palin in effigy, to have countless Bush as Hitler photos, make a movie with a plot of the assassination of Bush, or even pictures of Bush as a clown. All of that is okay.
But to have anything like that directed at Obama, we need to fire the clown, send in the other clowns for sensitivity training, and get the NAACP involved so they can declare this rodeo incident a hate crime.

I’m not sure about that. It looks like the frog has assimilated to being boiled. If what is happening to whites in South Africa wouldn’t make them fight back instead of embracing their murderers, what will? If what was done to Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome, or the Zebra serial murders of whites by the Nation Of Islam didn’t spark outrage amongst whites, what will? Blacks march and riot everytime some black criminal receives his just desserts, illegal immigrants publicly desecrate the US flag and grab their nasty crab-infested crotches for the cameras, but whites elect and re-elect a man who made his racism towards whites known before he even began his campaign. Something is sick, deeply sick, in whites. We have crossed the line from civilised to overly-civilised, that is to say, decadent.
Surely Professor Yates has a publicly accessible e-mail address so right-thinking Americans can express their opinion on his actions directly.

I was listening to some lib talk show on satellite radio last week, and the female host (can’t remember her name) was inveighing against the rodeo clown and demanding some sort of inquest. One of her guests, might have been equally progressive lib John Fugelsang, rebutted her by mentioning Eddie Vedder prancing around the stage during Pearl Jam concerts donning a Bush mask and hanging an effigy of Dubya. Nothing deterred the female host. What Vedder did was “different,” and something should be done to the rodeo clown. Again her lib guest responded with what Vedder did and what the rodeo clown did was 1st amendment speech and no big deal. He was more upset about the rodeo itself which he regarded as animal cruelty.
MO people are just sorry they voted for Romney and have found a unique way to show their backing for Obama after all.

I watched a video, don’t know if it was the video, of the incident and I didn’t observe the lip flapping. Did that really take place?
He did not do so, however, because he knew that it was useless. Whether he wrote DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER, or whether he refrained from writing it, made no difference. Whether he went on with the diary, or whether he did not go on with it, made no difference. The Thought Police would get him just the same. He had committed — would still have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper — the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed for ever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you.
It was always at night — the arrests invariably happened at night. The sudden jerk out of sleep, the rough hand shaking your shoulder, the lights glaring in your eyes, the ring of hard faces round the bed. In the vast majority of cases there was no trial, no report of the arrest. People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word.
