Tamarod, the Egyptian movement which led the opposition to ousted President Mohammed Morsi, apparently now has a new target: the peace treaty with Israel.
Egyptian media reported on Saturday that Tamarod, which amassed 22 signatures to a petition demanding Morsis departure before the army ousted him in July, is now collecting signatures to a new initiative calling to cancel the peace treaty signed between Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin in 1979.
Tamarods latest initiative, according to the reports, comes in the wake of what they called the unacceptable U.S. interference in Egypts political affairs. The members of the group are demanding that the Israel-Egypt treaty be put to a referendum.

Ah well, Aswan Dam was nice while it lasted.
As if Morsi would have done any differently.
Well, Bill Clinton targeted Serbian bridges and power plants (without benefit of a declaration war)
No reason why a dam sho0uld be off limits.
obbbammma effs things up again.
Egypt is cruising for a population reduction.
No reason at all.
Morsi was just as ready to scrap that treaty. Of course, Tamarod (which most people seem to not have paid attention to) accused Morsi of being the ally of the USA and Israel instead, using that as a reason for his ouster.
If Israel is forced by war to nuke the Aswan dam it will be like flushing a toilet
Now that sounds like an underwhelming groundswell of opposition to anything. Amassed 22 signatures? AMASSED?????
It should be the express policy of the United States government to do everything possible, overtly and covertly, to encourage Arab on Arab violence. We could all sleep a little better.
I don’t hear the liberals crediting Obama’s “Cairo speech” much anymore for what is going on over there like they did when Mubarak was ousted.
“An Israeli official said Thursday that Israeli cabinet currently opts for staying “on the sideline as far as Cairo goes this is an internal Egyptian matter.”

But we have to stick our noses in and eff everything up. obbbammmer helped push Mubarak out. Now he’s effing things up again. We never learn. Never.
It’s enough for an autocratic movement.
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
Can they survive by going back to the pre-1978 agreements..sure for awhile..
They are coming to a decidedly table stacked against them to preserve the foot in the door so to speak. I have heard the rumor the younger generation of Israeli's is ready to fight I don't really believe it.
Much like the USA I think there is a real sense in the government there that they need to at best preserve what they have got or risk losing it all (or at least untold casualties) to the idealism of the folks who can be worn down by war...
The mostly secular army has been very pragmatic since Sadat was in power. Why would they now jeopardize the big cash cow now. As bad as it is now in our country the chance of getting to the truth is much worse from that part of the world. As I read in an earlier post, when Muslim Arabs are killing the like, it’s a positive.

A nuke will destroy the dam, but shouldn't kill all that many people, given that it's hundreds of miles away from Egypt's major population centers. The dam busters killed 1600 people while breaching the Ruhr River valley dams. The destruction of Aswan dam with JDAM's would mainly turn out the lights in Egypt, which wouldn't be such a bad thing in a wartime situation. Ultimately, any war started by Egypt should result in Israel's permanent annexation of the Sinai.
