As if Morsi would have done any differently.

Doesn't Egypt messing with Israel have some historical drawback?.

Tamarod, which amassed 22 signatures to a petition

Now that sounds like an underwhelming groundswell of opposition to anything. Amassed 22 signatures? AMASSED?????

“An Israeli official said Thursday that Israeli cabinet currently opts for staying “on the sideline as far as Cairo goes – this is an internal Egyptian matter.”

But we have to stick our noses in and eff everything up. obbbammmer helped push Mubarak out. Now he’s effing things up again. We never learn. Never.

I don't think Israel had any desire to cooperate with Kerry but they see the writing in the wall.

Can they survive by going back to the pre-1978 agreements..sure for awhile..

They are coming to a decidedly table stacked against them to preserve the foot in the door so to speak. I have heard the rumor the younger generation of Israeli's is ready to fight I don't really believe it.
Much like the USA I think there is a real sense in the government there that they need to at best preserve what they have got or risk losing it all (or at least untold casualties) to the idealism of the folks who can be worn down by war...

The mostly secular army has been very pragmatic since Sadat was in power. Why would they now jeopardize the big cash cow now. As bad as it is now in our country the chance of getting to the truth is much worse from that part of the world. As I read in an earlier post, when Muslim Arabs are killing the like, it’s a positive.

I'm surprised that it took this long... Whenever muslims (or any totalitarian ruler) realize they're losing (or lost) control of the masses, it's time to unite them against a "common enemy," like Emmanuel Goldstein. Or Israel.

Reads like ‘blackmail’ to me. IF our dear leader stops sending the checks then the whole system is coming down?

Interesting bluff move to put massive pressure on Obama.

This does not make sense (then again, they're Muslims) because they support their military junta, Israel supports their military junta and it is in their best interest to keep the border with Israel quiet & friendly as they march on with their internal problems.
This would not be the first time the Arabs do that which is directly detrimental to their interests...

sounds like the new guy in Egypt and Israel are fine - in constant contact - Egypt just wants all US hands on - OFF - and needs to get to the rest of mussie nests.
It just may be that Egypt and Israel will work out their own treaty - without any input from the US muzzie -

the usurper in the the WH is setting the US back decades -

I can only think of one reason for the Egyptian military to cancel the peace treaty. The peace treaty prevents them from acting on the Gaza strip. There is no love at this point with the pailis in the sinai and gaza. Just something to ponder.

Another in a series of articles posted about how evil Sisi and Tamarod are. Some decent comments on the thread though. Pinging you in case you have any time to make a comment or so.

John Bolton was right. Its not the islamic extremism the Egyptians have a problem with.
