The Washington Post´s article detailing the fourth amendment abuses by the NSA got some push back from the administration who attempted to "edit" the article before publication. The internal audit referenced in the article was obtained by the WaPo from Edward Snowden. The details of the audit indicated repeated and growing privacy violations by the NSA, violations which included obtaining thousands of American citizen´s communications records and using methods of information collection that were later deemed unconstitutional by a court. The Post was able to interview John Delong, NSA director of compliance for the article and they were initially

WaPo rebuffed MiniTrue?
Uh oh.
Overseers? Did anyone else catch that in the letter/proposed language?
The Washington Post acting like a real newspaper? Well guess stranger things have happened....
So..... What ARE they trying to coverup?
Drip
Drip. Drip
I wonder if Jeff Bezos, a D.C. outsider, is going to put up with this kind of shiite.
Minitrue rebuffed.
“overseers”?
Check it out....
“The Washington Post acting like a real newspaper?”
Jeff Bezos now owns the place. And he calls himself a libertarian. Things are about to get very interesting.
Time for Room 101.
Most here will get the reference, but not many offsite will.
Heh.
How long until the Eye from The Handmaid’s Tale is put on the WaPo?
“So..... What ARE they trying to coverup?”
my 2 cents -— This is trouble enough. Obama Adm already had the WaPo story BEFORE Obama came out with comments to “reform” the NSA to make Americans feel “comfortable” with the program. He was trying to get out in front of the WaPo story.
I heard one commentator say how unusual that a president would want to limit his powers with such a suggestion. LOL, we know THAT’s not the case with Obama.... SO....
Did you see the article (also on Greta, last night I think) about FISA court comments about-— paraphrasing-— garbage-in, garbage-out. I.E, the court can only rule on the evidence presented to them and they have NO CONTROL over how, or what happens after that. NONE!
IMO, NSA is necessary in some form, but Obama Adm so recklessly and tyrannically disregards the law and the Constitution, all trust is lost.
Also, going deeper, those 1000s of violations, I am curious about the dates! A timeline! That may expose a deeper panic the Obama Adm is trying to cover up with their current suggestions and promises.
Yes....they were talking about their own internal overseers.
What difference does it make?
First off, it is a Friday night news dump, so by Monday it will be gone.
Second, Republicans are squish. Obama should have been on his 3rd year in prison right now.
Every phone and data pipe into and out of the place is probably so full of NSA ears and eyeballs at the moment that bandwidth and quality is suffering.
Bump
I’m sure all media outlets have been for quite some time.
True.
Recently CNN and the like admitted that they sent stories to MiniTrue for approval.
