State Sen. Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley, advocated for SB396, her bill to criminalize possession of all high-capacity magazines even if they predate the state's 2000 ban or were made with do-it-yourself kits. Such magazines "have no place in civil society," she said.

These are some of the most draconian bills I’ve seen.

Next they’ll make everything but a single-shot gun outlawed.

Stupid tool thinks she lives in a “civil” society. Maybe if she left the confines of her gated community for a few hours she’d learn the truth!

The GOP is utterly gone in CA and has no power. So these bills will pass. The only question is will the Fed Ct declare them unconstitutional (as it should). Here’s hoping.

As if I needed another reason not to spend my vacation money in California.

There are many beautiful things about California.... it’s people isn’t one of them. It must be very difficult for conservatives to live down there.

What about a rifle with an integral magazine utilizing strip clips.

TYRANTS have no place in Civil Society.

I will be ignoring all such “Laws”. I've already been through the Liberal effort to make Law Abiding Citizens overnight Felons.

I made the mistake of Registering my AK-47 "Assault Rifle" when they implemented the Statewide Ban. I later sold it so I wouldn't be on the "List". Now my CA legal AR-15 is the Target. Hell, my 10/22 is a Target too. Welcome to Commiefornia, where Liberal Wet Dreams come true. Remember, every Man is a Criminal. They just don't know it.

I remember those old Cagney Movies, “come and get me Coper”

Why not the Police then too Loni, or the film industry? Both of those receive exceptions in your bill.

My Grandpa's Remington Model 742 carbine in .308 Winchester will become illegal.

Glad I left California back in 1994!

Since when does a gun control law not advance in California?

****the committee had voted along party lines to approve bills that would add all semi-automatic rifles that accept detachable magazines to the state’s list of banned assault weapons; ban owning any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds,***

Years ago (1982)Cali tried to ban handguns with Prop 15. The voters rejected it. Since then, they have been trying all ways possible to get around the will of the people.

When Cali first proposed a assault rifle law, they included in the “to be banned” list many common lever action rifles like the pistol caliber Winchester and Marlin 1894. Neal Knox exposed this at that time.
