Full Title: Revealed: California killer who abducted teenage girl is shot dead in Idaho wilderness 18 years TO THE DAY after his own father committed suicide while holding another 16-year-old hostage
James DiMaggio's kidnapping of 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, whom was said to have a 'crush on,' could be a horrific case of history repeating itself, it has been revealed.
DiMaggio's father, also named James DiMaggio, shockingly killed himself 18 years ago to the day that DiMaggio was shot dead by an FBI agent in the Idaho wilderness. Hannah was found safe and is expected to be reunited with her father today.
The similarities between the elder DiMaggio's suicide and his son's death are uncanny.
James DiMaggio Sr. was also infatuated with a 16-year-old girl - James Jr's classmate - and resorted to violence when she refused to run away with him, it was claimed.

There’s a lot of odd stories out there in the wicked world, and this is one of the odder and I just feel so bad for the mom and kid who were killed in California.
Case closed and filed under the category well done.
Nice to see the expense of a court trial and cost of a prison cell was saved in this case.
Good to see the FEEBs got one right.
Thus proving why it is called The River of No Return.
He would probably still be alive hiding out up there somewhere had he not brought her with him.
crazy runs in the family, evidently
Good job! Saved the tax payers hundreds of thousands of bucks.
It makes one wonder... nature, nurture, or coincidence?
Somebody better run out and buy a Lotto Ticket right now.
What are the odds?
This case just keeps getting weirder and weirder. His Father did the same thing eighteen years ago? Wow. One issue keeps popping up in my mind: the family was close/friends with this man. Didn’t they sort of get suspicious when he told everyone he had a “crush” on her? I’m not blaming the family at all. I just keep thinking they were misled by this creep.
We obviously need more Infatuation Control Laws.
The girl did not appear to be held against her will, her mother and brother are dead. I can still see a long trail ahead.
Stockholm syndrome?
Maybe, maybe not. She could have been an accessory or an accomplice, sad to say. Such a tragic story.
It most certainly does. I’ve been told that one can’t “reason with crazy people” and that can lead to the crazy person ending up being a dead person.
these people are folking crazy, who would let a “family friend”, an adult male, take a beautiful and obviously extremely stupid and vapid 16 year old to Hollywood for her “birthday”?
I am nervous even having male family members around my daughter let alone letting one of them take her somewhere and my family has no history of sexual abuse.
Notice that none of the young women in the Cleveland house of horrors seemed to suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, although, apparently Patty Hearst did. (She was repeatedly raped, but it took weeks or months.)
My thinking is that in the ten years they were there surely they could have found a way out. He wasn’t there 24/7 - but then maybe they were so toughly cowed or something.
PS - I read about Patty Hearst and some things didn’t ring true. The pictures of her at the bank suggested to me that she was part of it. Her stance for one thing. I feel that she wanted to be part of that group.
