Skittles and Iced Tea? Or Purple Drank?
ksfo560.com ^ | July 19, 2013

As previously stated, Trayvon Martin have felt sufficiently paranoid to lash out violently in the way Zimmerman and witnesses claim. This is important because a street drug that is popular in the young urban community known as Purple Drank or Lean produces those very side effects — agitation and paranoia.

Purple Drank or Lean is a cocktail that is created by mixing Robitussin or other over-the-counter cough medicines with — yes — Skittles and Arizona Watermelon Juice, the same flavor of tea Trayvon Martin was carrying that night.

This is a couple weeks old, but the first I heard about it was today on a local talk show. No media coverage, of course.

It’s been mentioned on FR since the whole thing erupted.
The kind of stuff that’s NEVER seen in the MSM.

Some things just can’t be reported due to political correctness.

I don’t know if the defense used it in the trial or not, didn’t follow.

If only these yutes could channel the brain power, the effort, the creativity they put into getting high into some worthwhile pursuit.

Skittles and Tea is used to cut the horrible taste of robotussin.

Because robotussin has a bitering agent added to it so kids won’t drink too much of it and overdose. The tea and skittles is used to reduce the bitter taste of the cough syrup. The tea and skittles provides no other function in “pruprle drank” than to make it taste good so you intentionally overdose on DXM. This is WHY St. Trayvon’s liver loooked like a 40 year old alcoholic liver.

For Instance Compare some store brand ex-lax choclates vs. name brand Ex-Lax, the name brand ex-law tastes horrible but the store brand tastes mostly like chocolate because too many people were misusing the Ex-Lax for mischeif so Ex-Lax added a “bittering agent”, but the store brand is too cheap to do so.

No, and it shouldn't have. It's pure speculation based on no facts in evidence. I heard discussion Skittles had liver damage, which is a side effect of the drank, but it's still speculation. It would have harmed the defense to have tried to bring it up, which I don't think they could have anyway. Not if they couldn't touch Skittles' school records or cell phone data.

No, but they certainly can in the civil trial.

The one thing I don’t get is how Robitussin can be used to make Lean, as I do not believe it contains any codeine.

Yet the lying libs continue to insist St. Skittles was only carrying candy and a fruit drink when he was “profiled, stalked and assassinated” by Zimmerman.

And no.... the defense did not mention Martin had 2/3 of the ingredients necessary to get a ghetto buzz.

Maybe Robitussin is the amateur version, for those who can’t score the good stuff?

It’s a crappier version of lean. You still get messed up though. Back in the day, I heard someone refer to it as Robitrippin’. No mixing, just chug a bottle of Robitussin.

The kids are stupid. Dextromethorphan is available in pill form. I know because when I need a cough suppressant, I buy it in pill form so I won't have to take a bunch of other medications mixed in.

Dextromethorphan, taken in enormous quantities, is a dissociative drug. I’ve heard it compared to LSD.

There are several different kinds of Robisussin. Robitussin Ac contains Guaifenesin and Codeine. You need a prescription to get it legally. It seems St. Trayvon’s cell contained inquiries on how to get ahold of some.

Just “doing research” no doubt, because the media has told us he was just an innocent “child” on his way home from the store. Probably getting ready for a big night of iced tea, skittles, and some Ma and Pa Kettle movies...

So was he on the drug at the time? Did he carry a bottle of cough syrup with him as he was walking? Or was he going to make it later? If he wasn't on the drug at the time of the assault, is it really relevant to the case?

Cough medicine appears to be the active ingredient. What users choose to put into it is up to them. No particular combination is essential to making "purple drank."

I don't see any reliable indications that Arizona Watermelon Juice and Skittles are any more necessary than Mountain Dew and Jolly Ranchers. Sprite and Coke are also popular additives according to the internet.

Cough medicine is also the hardest ingredient to get. There may be limits on quantity. You may have to give your age.

But if you've got cough syrup and soda at home you've already got the ingredients for "lean," so a trip to the store just for juice and candy is probably unnecessary if you want to make the "drank." If Martin didn't have cough syrup on him to mix, then (so far as I understand the timeline) he probably wasn't on that drug (though he may have been on another).

Maybe Trayvon just liked candy and watermelon juice. In any case, no, there isn't "ample evidence" that the candy and soda were intended to be used to make the "drank" that night or that he'd already consumed it.

No question that the kid was no saint, but sometimes skittles and watermelon juice are just skittles and watermelon juice.

The story is more than a couple weeks old, and predates this article, although I am not sure by how much.

The skittles/watermellon/robutisan is NOT the usual recipe for the drug, its usually made from robutisan, sprite, and jolly ranchers--but it IS the way that Trayvon was advised to make it in a text conversation recovered from his phone when he complained to a friend about not being able to get high at his new residence.

I would think you were likely correct, except that I saw a video showing a text conversation between Trayvon and someone advising him to make the drug with robutosin, skittles, and the watermelon drink--in response to Trayvon complaining there was nothing to get high on in his new residence. Unless the text conversation was a hoax or something, I would think it likely it was indeed bought for those purposes.
