Autopsy showed each of the two was shot in excess of 40 times by cops firing into their car. This doesn't count all the bullets fired into the car body itself plus those slugs that went all over the place.
Leni
That was back when the “sheet metal” had some thickness too...
That should help.
“Nothing? Most (sane) people would agree that running from the cops just doesn’t end well.”
Was their fleeing endangering anyone? More so than the cops slinging all that lead around?
I cannot either but one thing is certain, if approached by the cops today on the road as most of them are trigger happy plus over armed with military weapons, one would be smart to stop, don’t resist and hope you will be on your way with a minimum of violence on your person.
Mouth off, start quoting the Constitution, or touching one of these storm troopers will result in a you lose situation with the only parameter being by how much. IMO of course.
Cleveland’s remake of Bonnie and Clyde
Maybe not. But if cops will overreact here, when and who else will be the victim of their next cluster !%@#.
Remember the 3 innocent victims in the Dorner hunt.
I wonder why they stopped shooting.
Another Cleveland story ,Oh goodie
Nineteen of the 75 officers facing discipline for offenses ranging from engaging in a chase without permission to providing false information on police reports will have disciplinary hearings and might be suspended temporarily, according to The Plain Dealer.
In 2011, the newspaper published an investigation of reports of excessive use of nondeadly force by Cleveland police officers. The newspaper found that the police chief often overlooked inconsistencies with police officers' stories when investigating use of force incidents.
Many of the officers faced accusations of brutality on the force.
And there you have the problem, consistent irresponsible, undisciplined, unprofessional, conduct enabled by obstruction of justice and perjury, systemic and tolerated in the police department.
Was their fleeing endangering anyone? More so than the cops slinging all that lead around?

Yes. Anyone and everyone else on the road that night.
Second question irrelevant. No innocent people were harmed. Either by a drunk and stoned driver, or the cops who stopped him.
0bama death panel.
They ran out of ammo?
Yep. Right or wrong, the time to argue your point is decidedly not with a heavily armed man at the side of the road.
There are always ways to rectify situations. Treating situations with police officers as a professional contact (which it is, be respectful but not deferential) and not immediately escalating (unless there's no other choice) makes taking care of any problems a whole lot easier.
NOTHING! Running from a cop is not a capitol offense.
Everyone of them should be charged with 2nd degree murder.
ping!
“Were they killed?”
dead.
There are many other alternatives beside your sarcastic one.
Limit the cars engaged in a chase.
Do not chase at high speed unless the crime is a felony, Get close get the tag , get them next day. If they claim they weren’t driving take the car. It was guilty.
Use common sense before busting a cap do not let emotions run off with you.
They do not chase crotch rockets because they know they cannot catch them and might kill the rider, Car chases should be much the same.
Break off the chase when civilians may die because of it.
Drive your police car as though you might want to live through the chase.
