Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-9-NC) says NO to Defunding Obamacare
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBaSTgK1XZc
During Robert Pittenger's Town Hall meeting August 5, 2013, he was asked if he would vote with Mike Lee to defund Obamacare. He gave a resounding answer. Robert Pittenger is a Congressman to the 9th District of North Carolina.
With respects...
Democrat/Republican-same coin Turd, different sides ends.
And don't ever try to polish a turd...
House Members are pretty lucky because of gerrymandering. He probably won’t be kicked out even for this stupid statement. House members can say whatever they want and get reelected. Much more difficult for Senators. For example, John Boehner should be kicked out of the House, but he received 96 percent of the vote last election. The Democrat only received 4 percent. There was zero primary but even if still, I don’t know if the Republican would win against Boehner. It sucks!
HA-HA, watched video.
he is asked if he will vote with Mike Lee ‘yes’ or ‘no’ as only options and so he replies 'no', OMG...
Mike Lee is in the Senate, This congressman Pitt is in the House so they CANT vote together.
Duhhhh,
Sen Mike Lee and Cruz need to round up 51 Senators to kill the Senate CR (as a budget item) and replace it with their own in the Senate where they live. That requires getting all Republican Senators and a few Dems too to go along.
And to get Reid to put it up for a vote. Its real simple.
I imagine House members dont appreciate being told what to do by Senators who cant even win over their own house.
Please listen to what is being said in the video. Maybe I’m overlooking something, so somebody please clarify if my analysis is wrong.
The misguided TP patriot who asked Rep. Pittenger if he is going to vote yea or nay about defunding Obamacare seems to be confused about the federal lawmaking process. More specifically, while the HoR can initiate and pass an Obamacare defunding bill, neither the Senate or Oval Office will support such a bill as Rep. Pittenger seemed to try to explain to the gentleman. So all that HoR yeas for defunding Obamacare amount to is increasing the possibility that incumbent conservatives who vote yea will be reelected in 2014. (In that context, I’m surprised that Rep. Pittenger didn’t politic a yes.)
Another perspective on the politics of conservative lawmakers NOT defunding Obamacare is the following. Constitution-ignorant “patriots” have shown, imo, that they are “fire fighters” as opposed to “fire preventers” as evidenced by allowing Constitution-ignoring socialist to take of the country in the first place. And from what I hear, conservative DC lawmakers may be counting on the Obamacare tax to give voters the kick in the teeth that they arguably deserve for not getting off their butts to kick Obama out of the Oval Office in 2012. So the good thing about the inevitable Obamacare tax tsunami is the following imo. It will hopefully drive conservatives and former Obama supporters to get off of their couches and elect new conservative faces to Congress in 2014.
And speaking of 2014 elections, if outraged conservatives and former Obama supporters get mad enough to elect 2/3 majority conservative control in both Houses of Congress in 2014 elections, and I don’t know if that is possible in 2014 election cycle, then a conservative supermajority Congress will be able to do the following under the Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I. Clause 2 will allow Congress to override presidential vetoes. This means that a conservative Congress will be able to repeal Obamacare without Obama’s signature.
Again, who cares about defunding Obamacare, since it actually can’t be done at this time because such a bill won’t have the support of the Senate and the Oval Office? On the other hand, patriots need to wise up and try to elect a conservative supermajority to Congress in 2014 who will be able to repeal Obamacare without Obama’s signature.
Soon to be former Congressman to the 9th District of North Carolina most likely.
Mike Lee is in the Senate, This congressman Pitt is in the House so they CANT vote together.
So you're saying everyone on this thread needs to chill?
In other words, civilization is screwed.
In other words, those who cling to civilized values, pay their bills, work hard to get ahead, and make all the sacrifices to maintain society.... we’re screwed, thanks to the barbarians at the gates.
SHHHH, I dont think they picked that up.
Standard rant thread.
Hey, if a few GOP Senators want the Dem CR blocked then they should block it, not demand the House do what they plan on failing at.
If they want to tell the House what to do they should run for Speaker themselves, but they wont because that jobs no fun.
They need to round up 51 Senate votes.
Here's a few Senate Seat's they cant count on to help block the Reid CR : Angle , O Donnell, Akin, Mourdock.
See??? sometimes winning elections matters.
I do believe you’re correct. One of my friends who has Medicare thinks it’s wonderful that she can get all her regular check-ups done now every year and “it no longer costs her one thin dime”. Attitudes like this, regardless of an individual’s age, make my hair stand on end. Who does she think pays the doctor?
It is all so crazy.
