Yes there is a difference. This government is running a giant version of organized-crime’s ‘bust-out’ (Google), not a protection racket.

To infiltrate their perceived enemy, of course. And since their philosophy is a world-converting one, that is a “duty” they can’t shirk, from their POV.

Someone ought to run against him, demanding that he read the Constitution, over & over again, so that it actually piques the interest of those constituents, to see what the fuss is all about You are dealing with low information voters. The Constitution is foreign to them & these socialists are ingrained into being socialist. No way they change their stripes. This is our nation now & in the future.

Uh...Mr. Ellison...if the government doesn't have the money, it's broke, pal. Otherwise, if we buy into your leap of illogic here, you're saying that you, Keith Ellison, otherwise a penniless pauper, have plenty of money because a few of your neighbors are gainfully employed. Their prosperity is your prosperity, isn't that right, Mr. Ellison? You yourself are wealthy because your neighbors aren't complete financial morons.
We'd like to see you put your own money where your mouth is, Mr. Ellison. Draft and file for consideration by the Congress a bill authorizing the Liberal Advocacy Surtax. Vote for Democrats, and you are volunteering to pay an additional 50% levy on all income derived from whatever source.
Let's see if your actions can possibly measure up to your high-sounding words, Mr. Ellison.
(Heh, heh...heh, heh...)

There’s no dealing with this mindset, and I guarantee you the majority of dems think this way. They will have to be resisted with force some day, I fear.
My libinlaw said something very similar to this a few years ago wrt nationalized healthcare. I said “how are we going to pay for it?”
Her reply was “the money’s out there!”

The government has a right, the government and the people of the United States have a right to run the programs of the United States. Health, welfare, housing all these things. Two very important aspects of these 'programs' espoused by Rep.Ellison and his fellow progressives; First, they are nowhere to be found in the US Constitution as specific powers of the government and Second, when you ask these advocates about what to spend for these programs, you do not get budgets, you get goals.
Unsurprisingly, LBJ's "War on Poverty" has been running for the vast majority of my life, yet the number of people in 'poverty' as a percentage of the population seems not to have changed a single whit! Strange that!
'Government Rights', what a primrose path to Hades!
