In a new lawsuit, Angel Dobbs and her niece Ashley Dobbs, of Irving Texas, say they were searched inside their underwear by female Texas Trooper, Kelley Helleson, after a routine traffic stop in Dallas in July. The trooper who pulled them over, David Farrell, says on tape he saw them throw a cigarette butt out the window and smelled marijuana when he pulled them over. No drugs were found and they were released with a warning. The cousins say the trooper who performed the search used the same pair of gloves on both women. The cousins are now suing the Department of Public Safety.

These new patrolmen are nothing like the DPS Officers we used to have. Same can be said for local and county. Get a funky haircut and you are god to go.Love the typo. Very appropriate.

I don’t think it merits a cavity search on the side of the road.

I doubt either of the girls had a lit doobie in their panties so I think we can rule out the danger of a prairie fire as an excuse.

Throwing a cigarette out the window should get’cha a fine...not freakin cavity searched. These officers were way out of bounds.
The whole, “I smell the odor of marijuana” is a ruse some officers use to gain access to the inside of a persons vehicle.
I would have refused a search and asked they get a dog out to sniff the vehicle. If they want to trump up charges, make’em work for it.

What strikes me in this thread is the casual chit-chat and light-hearted repartee about "littering", "cousins", "two f's" in "graphic", etc. when what we see in the video is a hideous violation of rights, a total debasement and humiliation of women out in public view...... medical procedures without permission, the ranger without medical license, experience or taking sterile precautions...the male ranger not defending or protecting these upset and powerless women against both anal and vaginal penetration.....a nightmare to view this video of a purposeful sexual totalitarian outrage in this supposedly-Constitutional republic in the middle of a public highway with passenger cars passing only a few yards away....
There should be OUTRAGE on this thread....by women and men alike!
How can ANY free American view this video and not be affronted, shocked and infuriated !!!

Once an idiot threw a cigarette out his window, it landed in the hood of my car, and the vents began blowing stinky smoke into my car!

I dont have much pity for smokers that toss butts out of their cars. Thats littering for one and a fire hazard for another.
Speaking strictly as a smoker: no pity here, either.

I’m amazed at all the cross contamination, anal, shoulder, coat, vagina, and then the other one, all while wearing the same gloves.

Lesbian rape on the roadside is “moderately reprehensible”?
Wow. Just wow.

I watched the video and my first thought was a little heavy handed for a litter violation. I get the cigarette butts on the side of the road, I live in SoCal with heavy fire danger, but then I realized just what I was watching. Full cavity search on two females, on the side of a highway, cause an LEO says he smelled marajuana!!?? WHAT THE HELL!!?? Not even taking into account the cross contamination in using the same gloves. Where is the outrage indeed.

I dont think it merits a cavity search on the side of the road. I don't either but if it makes them think twice about being careless, lesson learned. Give them both (officer and offender) a stern warning and let them go.

"Two Texas state troopers indicted for roles in roadside body cavity search of two women Trooper Kelley Helleson, who was later fired after the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of official oppression. Trooper David Farrell was charged with theft after the women said their prescription went missing following last summers incident. The women, Ashley Dobbs, 24, and her aunt Angel Dobbs, 38, filed a suit last year saying they were traumatized by the search.

Unless the patrolman is side by side with the motorist, or tailgating them, there is no way in the world you can see someone throw a cigarette butt out the window. To me it’s just a convenient excuse to pull someone over, about like seeing them with no seat-belt on and pulling them over, which is just another reason for stopping someone, then acting like they are a mass murderer on the loose.

Female cop put her gloves on to protect herself from having some bacteria transmitted to her, but never ungloved and regloved when she searched the second set of cavities. This was rape, clear and simple. These 2 women were overpowered by the fear of government force based on a predetermination by the cop he was going to search that car before he pulled them over. These two cops should be criminally prosecuted for sexual harrassment, rape, battery, and anything else the law can bring against them.
It was disgusting to see these two women profiled and assaulted by the state of Texas.
The two "perps" got away with," you may go now". The cops acted this way because they could.
Consider....if they were smoking marijuana....does that constitute the right of the government to rape them? Arrest them and draw a clot on them and check their blood for THC and any other drug they want....but they are not there to be raped by the capriciousnes of two cops representing the state of Texas.
They are out of control.

I see it all the time and I never tailgate. Maybe I just have good eyes (I did have LASIK), but it's perfectly visible to me when it happens.
