A Volusia County homeowner scared away a criminal late Thursday with a bullet from a 357 magnum.
An owner of a home on Spring Meadows Drive in Ormond Beach shot at a man at about 9:30 p.m. as he was trying to break into the home by removing a sliding-glass door off its tracks, police said.
