The House Ethics Committee is launching a full-tilt investigation of Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.
The committee announced on Friday it had received a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent investigative body, and said in a brief statement that it would formally investigate the one-time Republican presidential candidate.
A lawyer for Bachmann had previously acknowledged the investigation by the OCE and said that Bachmann was cooperating. That probe is focused in part on her short-lived presidential bid.

get over it, she was the first to drop out, hardly a contender
Get over it? We are stuck with a disaster. Hardly a good thing to say get over it.
Get over it, she was the first to drop out, and the first to endorse Romney. You seem to be forgetting that. She endorsed Romney when she dropped out. She was the first to drop out because she was one of the weakest candidates. I'm sorry you can't understand plain speaking truth.
Gosh you are almost gleeful with your posts. I thought for sure you were not an Obama lover. I know you must not be....I hope.
She definitely showed her lack of ‘character of leadership’ by bitching about Boehner...then voting for him anyway. IMHO, there’s enough leading from behind already.
Then her pro-NSA-anti-4th vote?! Fork. Done.
Sorry, the idea that she wasn't a weak candidate, that she simply wasn't ready as a candidate hasn't even crossed your mind.......
Does that make you an Obama lover?
Bachmann was a great congresscritter, not just a good one, and we will all miss her.
The big eye-opener for me, was when Bachmann's campaign manager viciously attacked Sarah Palin on television. Not only did she not apologize to Sarah, she didn't force her campaign manager to retract his statements, either.
I took that as a sure sign of cowardice and betrayal on her part. Sarah had been one of Michele's staunchest supporters prior to that. She was the last person to deserve such an unwarranted attack from Bachmann's camp.
Another surprise. Bachmann was one of those Republicans who voted against cutting off funds to the agency spying on USA civilians.
Will the investigation take as long as those of Rangel and Waters?
Silly question, I know.
yes. i don’t understand that one vote, yet. haven’t read that bill, so i don’t know if there wasn’t something in it that poisoned it for her. steve king also couldn’t vote for it either. those two are solid, so somethings funny about all of this. however, this doesn’t change my overall support for bachmann based on my evaluation of her character as demonstrated by her past actions. i still like her.
I guess I am just very sad at the results of the last 5+ years. It is a very different country and we only have ourselves to blame. I add myself to the blame big time.
If we survive the next year til the 2014 elections I hope we can learn from this. The same goes if we survive until 2016.

I really really pray that we keep the House (I am confident) and get the Senate (I think we could). 2016 is gonna be tough, but if we can keep the entire Congress, we can continue to block legislation. I like the fact that nothing is getting done in Washington. The only thing I wish they would pass is a good budget, but since they want to add to the debt, I say keep doing what they are doing.
Have a good evening sir, I'll be off until some time tomorrow.
