Arizona Sen. John McCain says his home state should review its "stand-your-ground" law in the wake of George Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
The Republican senator said he trusted the jury's judgment in the case, but added Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that the law "may be something that needs to be reviewed."
Does he think that applies to Arizona?
"Yes, I do and Im confident that members of the Arizona legislature will," McCain said.
He said he did not share Sen. Ted Cruz's view that President Obama's remarks on "stand-your-ground" laws represented another administration approach to gun control.
"I respect his view, but I dont frankly see the connection," McCain said of his Texas Republican colleague.

McRINO Praises Obamas Very Impressive Speech On Racism
Groan-inducing.
Via ThinkProgress:
[T]he senator also praised the remarks Obama delivered about the Zimmerman case on Friday, calling them very impressive and pledging to meet with more African American and Hispanic groups in Arizona. I need Americans to talk to their friends and neighbors, not just those on their block or in their circle of friends, he said.
"Make sure that John gets a free copy of my book."
McCain is not an Arizonan. His rich, beer heiress wife is. The only reason he shames Arizona by taking its senate seat away from an Arizonan, is because it is cheap to buy.
And once in that seat, he uses his wife’s money to destroy anyone who would challenge him. Character assassination, mudslinging, vile campaign tactics like the worst of Democrats.
Arizona will only be free of him when his contract runs out and he dissolves into a foul smelling black pool of slime.
I have read that about McCain as well. And this guy never seems to back the position of conservative Republicans on any issue anymore. Yet people like Sarah Palin and even Ted Cruz feel compelled to slobber all over McCain's butt every Veteran's Day or even his birthday for some reason. I think this only encourages McCain to continue his "up-yours" attitude toward conservatives. One person who has McCain pegged right is Rush Limbaugh, he has absolutely no respect for John McCain and ridicules his positions constantly.
Normally this wouldn’t bother me - with McCain, it’s what we’ve come to expect. The problem is that Governor Brewer is going wobbly and/or becoming senile too. Two years ago she stopped the guns on university campus bill that the legislature was set to pass. This year she sold out on Obamacare. Between the two of they could pose a threat to our basic right to defend ourselves.
Hey MAC!!!
I don’t NEED any special law to defend myself!!!!
I am under NO OBLIGATION TO BE A VICTIM!!!
When are all those old Arizona codgers going to vote this carbuncle out.!?! He’s downright embarrassing. Damn they must be downright daft to put up with stuff!
Get this treasonous old fool OUT!!!
And Mark Levin. Levin absolutely despises McCain and is happy to let everyone know it.
Would someone please find a way to shut up that ignorant prima donna. Why does Arizona keep electing him? He was a corrupt simpleton to begin with, and now that he is going senile he is an insufferable idiot.
“Hes done more damage to our country than he ever did to the NVA.”
In addition to crashing five aircraft and still maintaining his wings!
Please go f yourself, McLame!
Maybe you answered the question I was about to ask, which was "what has this guy got to gain by selling out at his age?"
The normally wonderful people of Arizona should feel ashamed to have this clown represent them in the Senate. He was, is and ever shall be a shill for the imbecile in the White House.
I hope McCain attacks someone and they exterminate him befor they consider changing the law!
An old, irrelevant, man trying to please his liberal rich wife.
He has to be taking payola.
He's done it before and gotten away with it, right Mr. McKeating?
McCain is a tool, he always has been but now that he’s senile he can’t hide it as well anymore.
