House Republicans plan to ratchet up scrutiny of the IRS during a hearing Thursday morning where agency workers are expected to discuss the involvement of high-level officials in slowing down applications from Tea Party groups.
For the first time, the House oversight committee has invited two key agency officials to testify. Republican leaders of the committee claimed Wednesday that one of them recently revealed that the IRS chief counsel's office -- led by a political appointee -- played a role, along with embattled IRS official Lois Lerner, in scrutinizing conservative groups.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the committee, told Fox News that agency officials in Cincinnati were taking their orders from Washington, and that the investigation needs to look next at both Lerner and the counsel's office.
"As a part of this ongoing investigation, the committees have learned that the IRS Chief Counsel's office in Washington, D.C. has been closely involved in some of the applications," Issa and other Republicans wrote in a letter to IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel.

You are misinformed
Issa indicated yesterday he is goingto get the IRS and is not letting up at all
Thank you so much for this thread.
I read every bit of it and it was very insightful.
I can only hope and pray that Issa keeps it up.
“The pubbies are paper tigers. Just another show trial.”
Anyone who goes to the swamp of DC becomes compromised. Most go for money, power, or fame. If they take the money, they are subject to blackmail. If they are all about power, to be in the power structure they have to toe the line and do the bidding of those who control the levers of power. If they want fame (i.e. McCain and Graham) the attention of the mainstream press requires backstabbing of conservatives and acquiescence to the progressive cause.
There may be a few genuinely principled individuals who go to Washington. If they can’t be bought with money or promises of power, the establishment will expose them to sexual temptations. Once they succumb they can be blackmailed. If they don’t fall to temptation, and make trouble, the establishment will make sure their campaign money dries up or their district lines are redrawn to force them out or make sure they lose. Ask Alan West and Michelle Bachmann.
Republicans are slaves doing the bidding of their globalist masters. What you hear is the noise of token opposition that will fade away.
Issa seemed like a whipped puppy dog to me. I listened and didn’t get anything to earth shattering or new from it.
I'm surprised that the Tar Baby didn't make an appearance. Perhaps they were being niggardly.
I’m sure a number of people have a copy of the email. I suspect that after Mr. George’s testimony, at least one of them is going to be confident enough to trust Mr. George enough to give it to him.
Truth be told, Elijah is a mental midget and his inferior intellect is so on display every time he opens his pie hole.
Sadly, I believe what you have written is all true. The whole of your premise smacks of Jimmy Stewart in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” If you don’t play you will be crushed. It is so much like other places that run on money and power. Like most corporate structures.
Hi don-o...I’m just getting home...may I ask you for a summary of what happened today? TIA
You may ask....
Could not resist.
The Cincinnati Rogue Agents meme was demolished and connection is made to Washington.
Democrats spent their time trying to claim that liberal groups were targeted; or if they weren’t, they should have been - or something.
They spent some time besmirching the character and integrity of the IG - Mr George.
Elijah Cummings farted loudly several times and Elanor Holmes Norton gave him hell for it. (I just made that last one up.)
“It is so much like other places that run on money and power.”
I’m afraid there is too much money in a government the size of ours. The institution of the income tax by amending the Constitution and the abdication of sound money through the establishment of the Federal Reserve were huge mistakes that allowed the Federal government and the Wall Street banks to control the economy.
He who owns the gold makes the rules.
LOL ;o)
Who really needed a congressional hearing to know that the rogue agents in Cin was pure BS?
I read the article posted here:

but was wondering if there were any documents/evidence brought forth to prove the WH connection...and also what happens now? More flippin’ hearings?
When Boris Yeltsin sent troops into the Russian Dumas and took out legislators to be shot, Clinton said he would do the same thing under similar circumstances. I believe it. And anyone with a problem with that would be called a “partisan” by the MSM.

But you won’t ready this in the NY Slimes or the Washington Compost. Nor on the OMG networks.
