House Republicans plan to ratchet up scrutiny of the IRS during a hearing Thursday morning where agency workers are expected to discuss the involvement of high-level officials in slowing down applications from Tea Party groups.
For the first time, the House oversight committee has invited two key agency officials to testify. Republican leaders of the committee claimed Wednesday that one of them recently revealed that the IRS chief counsel's office -- led by a political appointee -- played a role, along with embattled IRS official Lois Lerner, in scrutinizing conservative groups.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the committee, told Fox News that agency officials in Cincinnati were taking their orders from Washington, and that the investigation needs to look next at both Lerner and the counsel's office.
"As a part of this ongoing investigation, the committees have learned that the IRS Chief Counsel's office in Washington, D.C. has been closely involved in some of the applications," Issa and other Republicans wrote in a letter to IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel.

Why do we waste our time reading this?
We all know that the Republicans will bend over and take their medicine.
They will do nothing except stand up and beat their chests fora couple of seconds, then assume the position.
It’s happened before.
It will happen again.
Until we ditch the republican party and elect men and women with some morals and cojones.

Months of this and he still he yet to connect this to any specific person in WH or a Obama appointee. And Lerner is still getting paid.
This is just smoke screen to cover them getting Obama an amnesty bill/.

It would appear that several witnesses, especially Carter Hull, have given Congressman Issa quite a bit of evidence. It is time for consequences.
You are setting yourself up for disappointment. This will be a lot of bluster that comes to nothing again.
The pubbies are paper tigers. Just another show trial.
When you have pubbies saying this kind of thing in joint meetings on “Fiscal Reform” with the white hut you know they are useless twits. Emphasis on “additional revenue” when we still have not felt the effects of the last massive tax increase. It is a full 10% increase in tax rates for many of us, plus obastard care, plus new taxes on the sale of houses/capital assets, plus increased capital gains taxes on investments. Investments that are making paltry rates of return thanks to obastard and his ruinous policies.
“Big is reforming entitlements and it’s impossible to see a path where you get additional revenue without tax reform being part of it.”
Don’t kid yourself.... the IRS and NSA hearings are a joke. The perpetrators will never investigate themselves, congress knows that and congress have no police powers. DOJ will say they are investigating and have proven they will never do anything. You can scream and call all you want but the administration is rogue and will never investigate themselves. FORGET IT. The rule of law is dead.
It's utterly clear that "we" will do nothing at all.
Individually, a few people are doing what they can, and individually that isn't much. Voting is the least of all.

You have no plan to “fix” anything. All you do is complain.
