Plain and simple, this week may feel the worst of any week for this summer in the Northeast and parts of the Midwest. The region will be a virtual sauna bath.

I wasn’t yet born in the 1930s.
Yes indeed, our yard looks like we're living in the tropics! Besides our perennials and annuals, we're growing cherry tomatoes, "better boy" sandwich tomatoes and "san marzano" sauce tomatoes and pablano peppers.
He looks very cool in that picture, as he should. Fine hairdo, too.
“Temperature extremes do not happen in mid-Atlantic or mid-Pacific.”
That’s just plain racist.
“For me, I actually love this stuff.”
Much preferable to the cold.
Yep. They JUST got the Sweet Corn in around my farm (I only own a few acres, but it LOOKS like I live on Southfork; lucky me!) a scant three weeks ago. It’s about a foot tall, now.
Those fields are the last to be harvested for the canning company, though - my guys aren’t too worried. Rain this week would be welcome, though!
Last year, they planted Lima Beans. Due tot he drought all they had for their efforts were a meager crop of BABY Limas. :(
Is there anything sadder than a 68 year old man mooning a thousand people? The rest of my family is still teasing me about it.
I guess this heat wave is because we have too many cars, big houses and use air conditioning. To save the planet we must go back to a standard of living of 100 years ago.
First of all, THANK YOU for spending your hard-earned cash in Our Fair State. We appreciate it! An The Dells are so AWESOME now - it used to be really run-down and hinky; they’ve done a remarkable job of rejuvenating the area.
Secondly:

Well, a 68 year old with a FOURTEEN year old daughter is kinda, um, life changing? LOL!
A local guy has you beat. He works at my Walgreens and is in his early 70’s. His son is in 2nd grade.
Bwaa-Haa-Haa! Better you guys than me. I am so OVER being a Soccer Mom, I can’t even begin to tell ya, LOL! :)
Is that a UFO?
We had some wimpy-@ss corn last year! You shouldn’t be able to see those kids in there at all!
However, I’m never surprised when I see a dead, famous ballplayer walk out of a corn field, LOL!
Ditto in Alabama. I have a weather station, and the hottest it has been this month is 89.1 degrees. Today, already more than half-way through the month, will finally get over 90.
People in the NorthEast are such whimps. I wouldn’t even describe the weather as hot, unless it was OVER 100.
I hate the heat, but I can’t complain this year, really. Yes, here in Virginia it’s going to be 93 today, but this is the hottest it’s been all year. We had the coldest spring on record, and up until now summer has been unusually mild and very, very wet. The rain is a blessing; mid-July normally sees us in the middle of a drought.
Oh no!!! It’s July and THE WEATHER IS HOT AND HUMID!!! I can’t believe it!!!! Oh, woe is me.
Hey I do not complain myself, after having a HUGH blizzard way back in February of this year.
Was it series, too?
Not sure where you're from, but to be fair, we do get some pretty nasty winters in the Northeast. In Rochester, NY, we've gotten snow storms as early as October and a few years back, we got snow on Mothers Day. As a result, I make it a point to not complain when we get hot weather.
