Plain and simple, this week may feel the worst of any week for this summer in the Northeast and parts of the Midwest. The region will be a virtual sauna bath.

Good for the plants!

Chicago, the murder capital of America..To bad I hope the criminals suffer lots..just remember though that is nothing compared to hell where you murdering thugs will go..Poor black youth that are being murdered because they won’t join a gang..and nothing done about it..
I know,it is about the heat..I have that heat an more every day of summer..Live through the one hundreds and don’t look forward to that ever day like we do..
I too have observed this possible correlation. I think a government grant could provide answers to why this happens and what we can do to solve it. I have heard the southern hemisphere has solved the July-August heat problem.
Here in Tucson too. Monsoon season...temp 102. DEEElightful!
You bet! Bhut jolokia, trinidad scorpions and such are LOVING the low 90’s in soviet Red Hampshire...
It’s Summer time...
Rumor has it, it gets warm this time of year all over our quadrant of the Globe.
God gave us air conditioning for a reason.
"Never Mind", I said approximately. (what I really said isn't repeatable)
Southern Wisconsin weighing in: I’ll take this temporary heat - we needed to dry out, too! 12” of rain BEYOND what was normal for June this season; it was brutal!
T-storms moving in Friday night, a cool and sunny weekend ahead.
This is the year my A/C went out, of course - but we’re surviving with fans and a small window unit up in the bedroom. I’m fine with the heat if I can sleep at night. :)
Out to finish mowing...started last night in the cool of the evening until the ‘skeeters chased me in!
S. GA is having the coolest summer that anyone around here can remember. Ever.
Except the corn. I drove past a corn field the other night, and jeez! I bet most of it was 8' tall or better. Good year for it, good year for hay, too. Farm animals will eat well this winter.
I lived in MS for two consecutive summers w/o any a/c. Couldn’t afford it. I’m not feeling particularly compassionate. Sorry.
Neither of my parents, who have lived in MS since childhood, grew up with any a/c. My dad’s family didn’t have any electricity at all till the 1950’s.
Nope, not particularly compassionate.
Chick needs to deal with it.
If we only had $1 Trillion more in taxes, hot summers would be a thing of the past. Scientific fact!
I need to mow my lawn too. The grass has been to wet - for a change - the past several days. We had about 2" yesterday. I may need to bail the back yard.
Light weights. Come spend a few summers in Texas.
Actually summer here in DFW has been fairly mild so far.
Ditto that for NC. Other than the past couple of days when it's been 92-ish, temps are 5-10 deg below normal.
Paper says it's "Average". They haven't blamed it on GW yet, but if this horrific (/sarc) heat keeps up, it won't be long before that story gets trotted out.
Houston in August taught me all I care to know about heat and humidity...especially humidity.
