Rochester, N.Y. -- She says she had no warning that someone was going to search her car after she left to catch her flight. So the woman contacted News10NBC.
We found out it happened to her because she valet parked her car. Those are the only cars that get inspected.
So if security feels it is necessary to search some cars in the name of safety, why not search all of them?
Laurie Iacuzza walked to her waiting car at the Greater Rochester International Airport after returning from a trip and that's when she found it -- a notice saying her car was inspected after she left for her flight. She said, I was furious. They never mentioned it to me when I booked the valet or when I picked up the car or when I dropped it off.
Iacuzza's car was inspected by valet attendants on orders from the TSA. But why only valet parked cars? That's what News10NBC wanted to ask the TSA director about. We reached him by phone.
Berkeley Brean asked, Are the cars in the short term lots and long term lots getting searched as well?
John McCaffery, TSA, said, No, those vehicles that are in the garage, short term long term parking, even if they carry pretty large amounts of explosives, they would not cause damage to the front of the airport. But for those who use the valet, the car could be there for a half hour or an hour so there is a vulnerability.

The fascists in government salivated after 9/11. They saw a great opportunity to impose draconian laws on the public, and blame it on 9/11. Bull$h!t. They wanted those laws before 9/11. They just needed an excuse.
Could it be that the ‘valet’ has your key, and hands it over to the tsa nazi?
If there’s so much danger, then the ‘valet’ is in danger. Obviously, they don’t think there’s any danger for the ‘valet.’ It’s just to look for drugs, signs of firearms, or copies of the Limbaugh Letter.
Clear violation of the 4th and 5th Amendments, but they don’t care, and Congress doesn’t care either. The slide into tyranny continues.
The TSA says it’s alright for you to search your neighbor’s car...at night...when they’re asleep.
Just leave a notice hanging from the mirror.
Absolutely NOTHING sounds right in the Socialist States of Amerika these days under emperor Hussein 0bama's regime!
> They inspect the valet parked cars because they have a key.
Duh.
BINGO
Monroe County is governed by Republicans - the county itself is quite conservative while the city (predictably) is liberal. true to form - the districts are gerrymandered to allow for the likes of congress turds Schumer and Slaughter....just saying - that said - if shes using valet parking, shes from the east side and likely dem
Actually, that would be a 62.6% chance that she voted for Zer0. By the same logic, coming from WI (according to your 'about' page) there is a 52.8% chance that YOU voted for Obama!
There it is. We have gone from a system where they need probable cause to violate your right to privacy to a system where they can search because it is POSSIBLE that you might cause some damage. That covers just about EVERYTHING."
Using that logic, as I live under the approach to Dulles, I suppose it's just a matter of time before my house is searched regularly for surface-to-air missiles due to the "vulnerability".
Yes, because suicide bombers often utilize valet parking, because of it’s convenience.
I was looking at it from the psychological perspective of someone who wanted to plant a bomb. I would think the terrorist wouldn't want anyone else to have access to the car, and would be very afraid of anyone finding out what he's up to. Just MHO though.
And what happens if the valet driver had dropped his crack pipe in the car?
kinda like sending flowers, eh?
Right after they pull up your GPS and get the address for your now vacant home.
Yep, you never know!
Good to know, thanks.
That’s only in Bolder, CO so far.
If she has nothing to hide, she should not object to the search.
New threats demand new measures.
You’re either with the TSA or else you’re with the terrorists.
Flying is a voluntary act. If she chooses to go to the airport, she has already consented to their security rules — which are for her own protection.
Since she objected to the search she is opposed to anti-terror precautions. Probably best to put her name on a no-fly list. Also her family.
Why not search her home too — just to be safe?
Also, if the life of just one puppy could be saved...
