Beginning in 2014, the United Kingdom will require all British schoolchildren to complete a unit on the history of Islam, proudly reports Press TV, Irans very own 24-hour English language news organization.
British Education Secretary Michael Gove announced the addition of a Muslim-specific component after revisions were made to address an outcry over a prior draft that did not include any references to the monotheistic Abrahamic religion.
Muslims were among the most vocal critics. The Muslim Council of Britain, which represents about 500 Islamic institutes across Britain, declared that it was deeply disappointed.
The revised curriculum is great, though, according to Salim Mulla, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques. Sulla believes that people in the country could use a better understanding of all faiths, notes Press TV.
There is already a good understanding of Christianity taught in schools, Mulla told the Iranian media outlet. But I dont think a lot of Christians really understand what the Muslim faith is about.

The Eloi submit.
Why would someone want kids to be ignorant of history? There were Muslims in history. Now, if they are cheerleading, that;s different.
That’s just it, it will be just like how they teach the Labor Movement in this country. They will leave out all the nasty bits.
I’m still not exactly sure why the Brits don’t simply rise up and violently oppose the take over of their country?
Maybe it’s the conditioning -
“There’s some lovely filth down here!”
” But I dont think a lot of Christians really understand what the Muslim faith is about.”
Yeah, them Christians have no idea.
Islamic Terror Attacks on Christians

Teach them that the Qur’an was/is the word of God and therefore cannot contain contradictions.
And show them the dozen or more contradictions.
Will they teach that infidels must either convert, pay jizya, or be beheaded? Will the kids learn that women are chattel, and their husbands should beat them ever so often just on general principle? Will they learn that Islam believes that the entire world is supposed to be part of the caliphate? (they better learn that one fast, because they’re almost there).
Will they learn that a British soldier was murdered in broad daylight on a busy high street because of two men impelled by Islam?
Do the British allow homeschooling, and if so, are the requirements to be allowed to do so, onerous?
Meanwhile they don’t know who Churchill was.
But I dont think a lot of Christians really understand what the Muslim faith is about.
Oh, yes we do, unfortunately.
Will they teach school kids that the Crusades were basically a Christian attempt to defend the civilized world against the onslaught of Muslim conquerors?
Somehow, I doubt it.
Bye Bye English Puds ,they’ll have to go abroad the learn about them
They may have to increase the school day to cover all the Islamic terrorist attacks?
Well the history of Christianity and Jewish faith are contained in the Holy Bible.
Will that also become a public school text book?
The story, as usual, is not quite true.
What is being proposed is an OPTIONAL module on early Islam. As well as an optional module on ancient Chinese history.
And of course private, ‘free’ schools and academies, will set their own curriculums. And this govt is creating more and more of the new free schools and academies. NOR will this module be an option in Scotland or NI. We do not have strict national cirriculums.
Overall, it is likely that only a minority of schools in England will teach the optional module. I would bet good money that overall the Chinese module will be more popular England-wide.
