Al-Qaida branch confirms its No. 2 killed in Yemen

The Yemen-based branch of al-Qaida confirmed on Wednesday that the group's No. 2 figure, a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner, was killed in a U.S. drone strike.

Who let him go? Bush apparently. From the story: "Al-Shihri, also known as Abu Sufyan al-Azdi, fought in Afghanistan and spent six years in Guantanamo. He was returned to Saudi Arabia in late 2007 and later fled to Yemen to join the al-Qaida branch there."

What a joke this is.In the early days of the Afghanistan / Iraq wars the wife and I use to joke that the two most dangerous jobs in the world were #2 guy in Al Qaeda and bodyguard for Pakistan's President Musharraf. Might need to update it to add anyone with the real info on Benghazi.
