The finishing touches are being applied to the long-anticipated formal announcement that Caroline Kennedy will be the next U.S. ambassador to Japan.
SNIP
Kennedy's predecessors include luminaries such as Senate majority leader Mike Mansfield, former vice president Walter Mondale, former House speaker Tom Foley and former Senate majority leader Howard Baker.

Mike Mansfield actually was an excellent ambassador.
Carter appointed him as Ambassador to Japan and Reagan reappointed him. He earned a Masters degree and studied the Far East.
I guess the Kennedys can be bought pretty cheap these days.
The problem with Caroline is that she is dumber than a fence post. I’ve only seen her in one interview, but that one interview left me realizing she was so subliminal that she quite likely would be a danger to herself if out roaming around the city.
This should serve to disrupt relations between the two nations, the ultimate goal of many Obama efforts these days.
At least they found a place where she can’t hurt herself.
With 330,000,000 Americans, the best we can do is the nepotism aristocracy?
Caroline Kennedy speaks Japanese?
She barely speaks English. And has atrocious table manners to boot. I would have thought Jackie would have trained her better than that.
Without a fairly competent fluency in Japanese, those ethnocentric folk of Nippon, who consider most non-Japanese as some kind of high-level chimpanzees, would have a field day with witticisms and criticisms of the “bumbler” that the “foreign devils” of America sent to represent themselves.
JFK and Jackie did not seem completely stupid. They were pretty much classically educated. I don’t know what happened to both of their kids. Caroline is empty-headed and JFK Jr. was even dumber.

In the 69 years since D-Day, there are four occasions when the President of the United States chose not to visit the D-Day Monument that honors the soldiers killed during the Invasion.
The occasions were:
1. Barack Obama, 2010
2. Barack Obama, 2011
3. Barack Obama, 2012
4. Barack Obama, 2013
For the past 69 years, every American President except Obama have taken the time to honor the memory and sacrifices of the 6,000 American soldiers killed on D-Day. Except Obama.
June 6 2010, Obama had no events scheduled.
June 6, 2011, Obama met with the National Security team and was interviewed by WEWS Cleveland and WDIV in Detroit about the auto industry - FAR too busy to visit the D-Day memorial.
June 6, 2012, Instead of honoring our fallen soldiers, Obama made a campaign trip to California on Air Force 1 (at our expense) to raise funds for (his) upcoming election.
June 6, 2013, Obama is doing ANOTHER fund raiser with the multimillionaires in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Palo Alto CA, once again at our expense.
Arent you proud? And now he appoints homosexuals as ambassadors and this nitwit woman whose only claim to fame was she was sired by a sex maniac.
Another crazy a$$ Kennedy just what we need, oh wait it’s another Obama teem member.
Is Macaroni dead now?
OK so she served the little rice thingys, how about some sashimi (fish)?
And did she partake or stay with the Kennedy brand Bourbon or kool aid?
Knarf, when’s the last time you been to Lenscrafters, dude ?
It seems no qualifications are required to be an ambassador. Look at the long line of embarrassingly un-qualified ones.
I hope, “Um, ya know,” doesn’t translate into some insulting Japanese expression.
Where’s that picture of Bluto when Flounder’s mug is flashed on the Delta basement wall during rush week?
John, when did you start writing for the Washington Post?
Credentials these days need go no further than political affiliation and a recognizable name. We are being governed by fools and children.
I think it is more like an ambassadorship can be bought fairly cheap these days.
There have been rumors for awhile that she and Ed are having marriage problems.
