The Trayvon Martin case has been nothing short of heartbreak from the very beginning. Regardless of what anyone believes about Trayvon's past, his innocence or George Zimmerman's, the fact remains that a teenager is dead. I honestly didn't think I would get emotionally broken up more than I was over the story that Rachel Jeantel's friendship with Martin stemmed from the fact he was one of the only people who never picked on her. The story painted such a tragic picture of friendship and two people whose lives will never be the same.
Then came this week's testimonies and reactions from Trayvon Martin's parents to leave me and so much of America floored. On Friday morning, Sybrina Fulton took the stand to talk about her son. As part of her testimony she had to identify her child's screams in his finals seconds of life. Later in the day, Tracy Martin had to sit in court as the medical examiner, Dr Bao, explained how Trayvon died in severe pain and was alive for minutes after getting shot in the chest.
Essentially, Friday almost as much as the day Trayvon was shot was any parent's nightmare. Trayvon's parents had to come face to face with their son's murder while Fulton got questioned over whether or not her son actually deserved to get killed. Tracy had to sit in the same room as the man who shot his son in the chest, unable to retaliate or let the rage he has to be feeling out.
Yes, this is the worst imaginable day for a parent. But it's one the parents of an African-American child has been conditioned to accept as a possibility....

This is an honest question. Do black families even exist in 75% of the cases?
The author is a black racist sympathizer.
The “cracker” took out St. Skittles, the knock out king. In the end, St. Skittles ain’t all that racially superior after all.
Remember way back in 1994 and the OJ trial, when almost 100% of blacks insisted on the prosecution proving guilt (way, way) beyond a reasonable doubt?
Remember how they insisted on a clear chain of custody of the evidence?
Remember how they all insisted the integrity of the system must be upheld and the verdict respected?
Ahhh, the Good Old Days.
Not directly the same, but related...
“Heres Williams roadmap out of poverty: Complete high school; get a job, any kind of a job; get married before having children; and be a law-abiding citizen. Among both black and white Americans so described, the poverty rate is in the single digits.” — Walter Williams
Rates of incarceration for children of black two-parent families are a little worse than for whites....but only by a few percentage points.
Yes, this is the worst imaginable day for a parent. Wrong. The worst day for Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton is the day they finally stop the phony denial and publicly accept and confess that they have bred a teenage murderer through their own failure to form a moral character in their get.
That's nothing short of unhinged. The big fear that the parents of young black males have is not that they'll be shot by some Hispanic "vigilante" like Zimmerman, but that they'll be gunned down by other black males in perfectly mindless, anomic violence.
This comment is the very essence of the Left's narrative-over-reality paradigm. Black-on-black violence doesn't fit their preconceived "blacks' problems are caused by ongoing oppression by whites" and so they simply ignore the slaughter of young black men at the hands of other black men. It's nothing short of insane.
The depths of the liberal delusion is truly astonishing.
Lunch self-evacuated.
He didn't even need to go that far. He could have said "Sorry, Sir, but I have no reason to discuss this matter with you, since I don't know who you are. I suggest you summon a peace officer if you are so concerned." Or he could have said nothing at all - nobody is required to talk to strangers who have no LEO identification. TM got in trouble this time not because of his speech, but because of his attempt to murder GZ.
The hundreds of black teens killed in Chicago in any give year don't matter ...
Those Chicago black dead bodies can't be used by the MSM to punish conservatives... can't be used by democrats to gin up black hatred to keep vote numbers high - can't draw attention away from high black unemployment numbers - can't do crap. Can't do crap FOR democrats.
So they don't matter. Not at all...
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
They can still vote.
LOL - yes -multiple times...
I’m left with the impression that I’m missing something important about the way the media can’t seem to let this story go. Now, after a couple of weeks of testimony, where it is clear to any unbiased observer that Zimmerman is manifestly not guilty of “murder”, didn’t follow Martin, didn’t start the fight and only resorted to deadly force when he was on the ground, beaten and choked, they still can’t drop the narrative.
Why would the Guardian commission this piece? I guess the author delivered what was wanted, but is it just to sell papers? Surely there’s a bit more organization behind all of this.
It is a shame that the left has conditioned so many black families to believe they are victims in America. To an enormous extent, those days really are over. White Americans do not sit around the breakfast table in the morning thinking “What can I do to a black guy today.” We are too busy simply trying to live our lives and earn a living. It sounds like you are not burdened by that victim mentality crap. That certainly makes for a better life, doesn’t it?
When Zimmerman is acquitted, all the TrayBama sympathizers are going to hit the streets and riot like theres no tomorrow.
The ugly side of the race baiters will backfire on them.
Bring it on!
MLK: Judge not a man by the color of his skin but by the content of his character
Obunga: Judge not a man by the content of his character, but by the color of his skin.
And that one day it may occur to them as some kind of epiphany filtering through their befuddlement, that they have been conned by their own BGI peddlers. Their greed is the fulcrum of incalculable damage not only to George Zimmerman, his wife, and his kin; but also to the very fiber that barely yet holds our society together in the last days of unity centered on the inestimable but fading value of a human soul.
It is not at all clear that they have the intellectual equipment to entertain the concept without further measures that would take them aside for a complete self-examination.
I reckon that depends on what they are up to...
