The Trayvon Martin case has been nothing short of heartbreak from the very beginning. Regardless of what anyone believes about Trayvon's past, his innocence or George Zimmerman's, the fact remains that a teenager is dead. I honestly didn't think I would get emotionally broken up more than I was over the story that Rachel Jeantel's friendship with Martin stemmed from the fact he was one of the only people who never picked on her. The story painted such a tragic picture of friendship and two people whose lives will never be the same.
Then came this week's testimonies and reactions from Trayvon Martin's parents to leave me – and so much of America – floored. On Friday morning, Sybrina Fulton took the stand to talk about her son. As part of her testimony she had to identify her child's screams in his finals seconds of life. Later in the day, Tracy Martin had to sit in court as the medical examiner, Dr Bao, explained how Trayvon died in severe pain and was alive for minutes after getting shot in the chest.
Essentially, Friday – almost as much as the day Trayvon was shot – was any parent's nightmare. Trayvon's parents had to come face to face with their son's murder while Fulton got questioned over whether or not her son actually deserved to get killed. Tracy had to sit in the same room as the man who shot his son in the chest, unable to retaliate or let the rage he has to be feeling out.
Yes, this is the worst imaginable day for a parent. But it's one the parents of an African-American child has been conditioned to accept as a possibility....

His father left his minor son alone to take off with his girlfriend and did not even know he'd been killed, for days. How long did it take anybody to claim his body that was lying in a morgue?
These were not grieving parents, they couldn't be bothered, not until the professional racial grievance crowd smelled opportunity. Then the illusion began, little Trayvon, precious little child, grieving parents, all smoke and mirrors.
He seemed like a decent enough kid right up to a year or two prior, and for that I credit the only real mother he ever had, his stepmother who raised him, who isn't testifying for some odd reason.
He fell in with the wrong crowd, started behaving criminally and antisocially, thought he was going to beat down another soft, weak, creepy-@ cracker and ended up getting himself shot.
His grieving parents were nowhere to be found for days, his body unclaimed for longer than that. The loving family, poor little Trayvon PR spin fell apart long ago for all but the blinkered few for whom race trumps all, who seem to believe that Zimmerman was required by law not to observe what he believed to be suspicious behavior in his neighborhood, and furthermore that he had no right to defend his life because he was not completely incapacitated.

In the two months following Trayvon Martin’s death, black assailants carried out at least 14 fourteen known attacks against white victims with the idea of “avenging” the fallen youth.
In East Toledo, six juveniles beat a 78-year-old white man, shouting: “This is for Trayvon … Trayvon lives, white [man]. Kill that white [man]!”
In Gainesville, five blacks shouting “Trayvon!” beat a 27-year-old white man, leaving his face permanently disfigured. In another Gainesville incident, a black crowd shouting “Trayvon!” assaulted and stomped on a white man who was trying to recover his female companion’s purse from the hands of a black thief.
In Chicago, two black teenagers beat and robbed a 19-year-old white man because, as one of the attackers explained, they were angry about Trayvon Martin.
In Baltimore, a group of blacks beat and robbed a white man, stripping him naked, then posted a video of the assault online with the caption: “me an my boys helped get justice fore trayvon.”
In Mobile, a white man named Matthew Owens was brutalized by twenty African Americans armed with brass knuckles, bricks, chairs, bats and steel pipes after he asked them to stop playing basketball in the street directly in front of his home. As the assailants left the scene, one of them looked back at the victim, who was bleeding profusely, and shouted,: “Now that’s justice for Trayvon!”
It is unlikely that many Americans have heard of these racial attacks, because the perpetrators are protected by a media that does not want to notice that the racists are black, and their victims are white.

I keep thinking about the Epic Beard Man video, in which young punk and old dude exchange heated words, then old dude goes to front of bus and young punk to back, is goaded into action by a female bystander, reconsiders, goes up front to the old dude and throws the first punch, and summarily gets creamed by a guy old enough to be his grandfather.
Now that young punk with the attitude on that bus was a spiritual brother to Mr. Martin, but he ended up with a bloody nose.
The old dude was not spoiling for a fight. It was clearly self-defense.
Very similar scenario.
Oh, and the young punk’s friends were recording it on their cell phones. “You could press charges bro!”

Sabrina shouldn’t have made St. Tray go back to teach the creepy ass cracker a lesson.
Very few people, outside of Hitler, “deserved to die.” Nevertheless, smoking (a liberal bugaboo) WILL make you more LIKELY to die...one reason that all thinking parents TEACH THEIR CHILDREN NOT TO BEHAVE IN THIS WAY to keep them safe. I have done this with my kids. I would also council them “don’t under any circumstances corner someone you don’t know in the dark if you don’t know if the are armed and beat their skull against the pavement, beating them to the ground. Beating someone you don’t know could get you shot. Oh, and also, don’t post pictures of you online smoking pot and doing gang signs. Because I love you too much to have you act like a thug and a moron, because no matter what color you are, we are NOT thugs, and I won’t have you acting like one.” Also, kids...don’t stick your face in a glass furnace. I shouldn’t have to tell you not to do something stupid, but I would be a bad parent if I didn’t teach you what you need to be safe.
From what I hear the bio parental units didn't have much to do with St. Tray until just recently.

FWIW, I wonder if the crime rate of Black teenagers with fathers in the home is any different than any other group. I’ve never seen it reported so I don’t know, but common sense tells me fathers being involved in their children’s lives reduces the chances of teenagers becoming criminals.
Are there enough to even do a study?
If I may be so bold; that wasn’t really reportage. I think it was more like the opening of a cheap pulp novel./JMO
At least 15-20% of Black children are born in a two parent home. It’s not a lot, but it’s a starting point.
