IIRC, in some places, it’s illegal for Americans to collect rain water or, at the least, they’re taxed for doing it. I may be wrong, but I believe I read it here.

Just today in Texas they’re encouraging the building of retention ponds to help supply the underground aquifer.

Revolt is coming.

It better come before its too late.

Kinda like the Israelis were gonna take out Iran's plants before they had nuclear weapons.

My guess is that most people won't act until its far too late to affect change.

The trouble isn’t that people don’t have enough money to buy large quantities of land, it’s that there aren’t that many big parcels of desirable land left to purchase.

One reason for the lack of land to purchase is that government already had a lot of land, and continues to grab more and more of it.

"Yes he does intend to do this."

I have no doubt he hates the suburbs and intends to do this. But as with all things economic, Obama and his minions are clueless.

If the suburbs weren't more economically efficient (cheaper) than cities, they wouldn't exist at all. Like Mr. Obama, I work in Washington DC. Unlike Mr. Obama, I don't need to actually be there, because I telecommute. I do get to walk on the beach at lunchtime every day. The last time I went in to the office was... ummmm ... 2011 (I was supposed to go to a meeting in 2012, but Hurricane Sandy intervened). I also don't do a lot of driving, and don't spend a lot of my income on gasoline. My 2008 model year car has about 16,000 miles on it.

Technology -- green, red or purple -- won't revive your cities. Suburbs are more efficient. Sorry, Mr. Obama.

It's worth looking into the advent of the modern apartment building. The didn't spring up from nothing.

It's quite an eye-opener.

The "Utopian" dream city.

Looking at that image makes me physically ill. I guess it's good art, in that sense.

I enjoyed making it but not because it made me happy. I was thinking about the liberal Utopian dream when I did it.

They really don’t want me in their city. Cities burn.

I have always believed this kind of central planning was the real reason for all those incredibly intrusive questions included in that American Community Survey. Why does the government need to know how far away we live from my husband’s job?

Lawns are ubiquitous now because they were a sign of wealth in the middle ages. You owned arable land and didn’t HAVE to plant food on it. It was a sign of luxury.

Colorado. Here's the state website on how to pay for the permit.

For an interesting exercise in citizen investigative journalism, send your city and county governments public records requests, asking them for their expenditure reports from the previous year. They can send them to you as a .pdf or an XL spreadsheet easily enough.

When you get them, look for payments to the Urban Land Institute, or ULI. While not directly connected to the UN or Agenda 21, they are an organization that "trains" cities and counties in implementing "Smart Growth" programs. If your city or county is a member of the ULI, they're already in the process of implementing Agenda 21.

Here in Idaho, I know the cities of Boise and Coeur d' Alene are ULI members. The Boise City Council has been tossing around terms like "mixed use-high density" housing, and "transportation hubs" (busses and rail) for years now. It's happening under our noses, and no one knows or cares. Scary stuff.

Don't forget Logan's Run. Only instead of Sandmen, it'll be the Obammunist Death Panels.

Gawd, after reading this, I sure hope rebellion is coming sooner rather than later after being forced into these stacked crates.

The Chocolate cities will be gentrified, the indigenous population will happily move to the burbs. Unicorn farts and skittles.
