Obamas EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) is charging the automaker BMW, and the national retailer Dollar General, with discrimination, and violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act for using criminal background checks before hiring employees.
How can this be? you say. Dont companies have a right to check backgrounds before hiring employees that represent them? Dont companies have a right not to hire convicted criminals? Not anymore. Not in Obamas America.
The Obama governments logic is frightening. The EEOC argues that doing a criminal check discriminates. So, when you wont hire an applicant because of their criminal record you are wait for it Yes, a BIGOT!
Seriously folks. This is happening in the United States of America. If the courts hold for Obama, this will be the final body blow to job creation, economic freedom, and the U.S. economy.
But lets set that aside for a moment and think what this does to your own civil rights.

How can anyone run a business not knowing if the people they hire to deal with customers might be convicted rapists, thieves, or murderers? An employee is the public face of your business. They represent your brand. They are your thin blue line, your eyes, ears, and face to your customers. And, oh yes, dont think you wont be sued if one of your employees commits a criminal act against one of your customers.
How bad can this get? Well the EEOC not only wants to ban background checks. They want the job applicants who BMW refused to hire because of criminal records
to now be hired, given back pay, and legal costs.

This is unreal. I can remember when such a thing was unthinkiable and I’m not that old. How can a business attract customers if customers can’t do business with them without fearing for their safety? This is like being in the Twilight Zone. Even Obamacare isn’t this absurd or this destructive.
Am I alone in fearing for the future of this country?
This may have something to do with the status of labor unions within these companies.
I seriously wish Obama would not return from Africa. Maybe he can run for President in his ‘native Kenya’ and just stay there.

Would forcing businesses to risk hiring people who would endanger themselves, their other employees, and their customers be covered by the Moral Absolutes ping list?
While I wouldn’t force a company to do so, I personally have no problem with hiring non violent cons.
When I was a factory foreman about 90% of my painters were living in halfway houses. They were certainly superior to the kids HR tried to stick me with.

Is it a violation of the 1964 civil rights act to do background checks on people trying to buy a gun?
Hiring criminals, punishing employers for hiring American citizens instead of illegal aliens, increasing worker visas from foreign countries, punishing employers with 0bamacare.. hmmmm.. This isn’t a jobs plan. This is 0bama’s destruction of the private sector.

I had a discussion with a director at a Fortune 500 company where I worked. She advocated hiring ex-cons in preference to people who hadn’t been in prison because, “they needed a break.” As long as you weren’t hiring them for whatever they’d gone to prison for, what difference does it make to your company? (She said.) So, you wouldn’t hire somebody convicted of embezzlement to do your books and write your checks, but you could have them filling your stock bins. (As if theft isn’t theft.)
My argument would have been, what about the guy who has resisted temptation and kept his slate clean. He needs a job too and he is honest and worked hard too. Doesn’t he deserve a break as well? But, it is dangerous to argue with idiots who can have you fired, so I took the liability route instead. You hire somebody convicted of theft (any kind of theft) then you send them into people’s homes to install washing machines. (A book by a former thief said, “Do I look familiar? I was here last week installing a sink. I asked to use the bathroom. While at it, I cased the joint and unlocked a back bedroom window.) What is your company liability for hiring this guy? Her answer, well, that’s what bonds are for. Can you imagine how expensive that bond would be?
But, the point is she represents the liberal view and there are lots of rich, powerful people who have no skin in the game calling the shots for all the little people who will be at risk.
Criminals, homosexuals, and criminal illegal aliens are all you will soon be allowed to hire.
Don’t worry. Obama and the Congress do not have
to operate under this unConstitutional and egregious “rule”.

not only do businesses have a right to check the backgrounds of job applicants, they have a positive duty to do so...
lest customers or other workers get mugged or raped (or even killed) “because of negligent hiring.”
This is
1. a duty to society at large
(including customers)
2. a duty to other employees of the firm, and
3. a duty to the firm itself (in that careless hiring can lead to expensive litigation and judgements for damages, injuries, wrongful deaths, etc.)
This is indeed incredible. The other battles - gays, global warming, immigration etc involved old established liberal democrat positions. Civil rights for felons is a new area for the most part. Obama is ahead of his time. If it went to the Supremes now it would fail but probably would be close ... 5-4. That’s how close we probably are for the SC to rule affirmative action for felons. In a few years after a few more SC appointments I believe Obama’s position would prevail. Once you break traditional right/wrong and moral positions anything goes really.
They will argue that a released criminal has paid his dues and once released must be equally considered to those never imprisioned. Within 10 years this happens if not sooner.

I wonder if in the job description the potential employee is required to conceal carry (legally of course), if this same government would mandate the criminals receive their CCW?
I was thinking along those lines as well...background checks for jobs are forbidden but do blacks never apply for CCW?
