Remember this phrase, “Are you detaining me, or am I free to go?”
Officers are only allowed to detain you for cause. If it’s a moving traffic violation, they can only detain you for the time it takes to write a ticket. For example, if they ask to search your vehicle and you decline (as you should), they may try to threaten you, “I can call a K-9 unit and get a warrant but do we really want to go there...”
Your next answer after refusing politely once is, “Are you detaining me, or am I free to go?” If they say they’re detaining you, they are officially declaring that they have a probable cause to do so and this puts them on the hook (they are almost certainly audio/visual recording). If they don’t have probable cause, they have to admit that you’re free to go.
If they don’t say they’re detaining you, leave. That’s your right.
If you remember the time/date/location, file a complaint and ask his supervisors to preserve any recordings made. Better yet, get an attorney to ask for you. It’d be worth it to prevent this from happening to someone else.

Ohhh the mention of Cebu takes me back to my days on Leyte . I can’t remember setting foot on Cebu but I was on a RPO barge between the two islands. I would think Cebu has much the ambiance as Leyte even the monkey bananas.

TABC in Texas is just as bad. They were arresting people in hotel bars as they left the lounge to go to their rooms.....that went on until they pulled that stunt on a politician with some pull.
I don't any longer.
I'm finding through available sources as well as through NUMEROUS personal experiences that the majority of cops are mal-adjusted, undertrained morons - often substance abusers - who are mentally and physically unfit for the job at hand.
I'm beginning to conclude that they're now doing more harm than good and we'd be far better off without the vast majority of them around.
Get rid of them and go to a system of investigators and constables where REAL bad guys are arrested and all of this asinine "policing" is done away with.
If the cops were undercover, trying to bust underage liquor sales, seems to me they’d stop the girl just outside the store and take her in to prosecute the folks SELLING to underagers.
This Rambo crap is WAY inappropriate and uncalled for. We are well on the way of duplicating the Brownshirts of Nazi Germany. This is way beyond reasonable - as so many others have said - even if it WERE beer. You don’t handle THAT with guns and S.W.A.T. tactics.

OttBMare, I apologize for coming on too strong. I didn’t mean to give you a hard time. Women can’t take chances and that’s all I was trying to convey.
NO I did not miss the reference. I got it loud and clear. However, it still doesn’t excuse the fact that you totally made up things that were not in the article. You can point out the “Schutzstaffel” reference all you want, that was not my point.
