The star prosecution witness took the stand in a Florida courtroom for a second day Thursday as George Zimmermans attorneys tried to demonstrate that her story about hearing the prelude to the defendant's fatal confrontation with Trayvon Martin has changed over the course of the last year.
Defense attorney Don West grilled Rachel Jeantel about a letter she had a friend write for Martin's parents in the weeks after the February, 2012 incident, describing the phone conversation she had with Martin as he walked from a convenience store in Sanford, Fla., back to his fathers fiancees home in a gated community. West pressed her on what he indicated were inconsistencies between the letter and Jeantel's subsequent depositions and testimony - in particular her recent revelation that Martin told her he was being followed by a "creepy-ass cracker."
"Why wasn't 'creepy-ass cracker' in prior interviews?" asked West, one of the attorneys for Zimmerman, who is facing a charge of second-degree murder.
"Nobody asked me," replied Jeantel, who said she can't read cursive, which the letter is written in.

LOL!
An inability to read is not necessarily an indication of a low IQ. Besides IQ is a racist concept. I am sure that this woman is a near genius when it comes to applying for government benefits or voting. An unknown number of people have already died as result of the media coverage of this event. If George (I use Zimmerman’s first name and Martin’s last name to counter the media’s bias. You will notice that even supporters of George refer to him as Zimmermann) is acquitted the number of deaths may be great enough that the media will be forced to reveal the nature of the deaths. 19 years old. Is she a grandmother yet? She heard the sound of wet grass. The sound of “wet grass” is something like the sound of one hand clapping. This reveals some interesting areas of investigation. She looks like a Sumo wrestler. Could she be a Zen master? I think she has a bright future in the Education bureaucracy; perhaps as superintendent in one of the larger school districts.
I doubt it. Yesterday she said several times she doesn't look at news. I believe her. She stated she didn't know for two days that Trayvon Martin had been killed, and then only because a friend told her.
Yet, she sends literally hours each day talking and texting on her phone. This is a fascinating glimpse into modern society. Millions of young people live in an echo chamber where they only hear each other - and they are ill-equipped to live in the wider society or take on any kind of productive role.
Even Great White Sharks would pass her by...they prefer real flesh...not Democratic-Plantation-grown-slave-beef.
She reeks of fast food...not healthy for ocean going beasts of the sea.
And one can only imagine the drugs in her system...yuck.
Sharks in the wild prefer natural prey...thank you very much.
Early on in the trial they said that Zimmerman, not knowing his shot was fatal, flipped Martin over onto his stomach and pinned him down, all the while asking folks gathering around him to help him hold Martin down.
It's frustrating to hear these witnesses say they saw Zimmerman on top. They did. Just not at the beginning but at the end of the encounter between him and Martin.
One thing I did catch today - that photo of a bloody Zimmerman? Cops didn't take it as evidence. One of the witnesses was asked to identify Zimmerman on scene. She didn't want Zimmerman to see her face-to-face so she asked the cop to take a pic and she'll try to identify him that way.
If not for this bloody pic I think Zimmerman would certainly be railroaded.
That right there is funny...
The Law of Effect - You will generally receive more of the behavior that is rewarded and less of the behavior that is punished.
Ain't that the truth. My cats can't read cursive or even speak English...but they have me waiting on them hand and foot.
Even the raccoons that come up for the cat food on the porch are exerting their influence over me...and they can't write cursive either. Well, not that I know of.
This little (well, big) girl seems quite bright and manipulative as hell.
I never fall for this low IQ crap...never underestimate the enemy (and I call her enemy only because she thinks I am a dumb @ssed cracka). I could actually like her, but I know she hates me and my entire family. This is what she was taught.
Hate the cracka.
You really think MOST people don't know what cursive means???
I think that's BS!!
The hair is fake, so of course it’s in order.
I think she has a bright future in the Education bureaucracy; perhaps as superintendent in one of the larger school districts.
Ouch!
I can’t believe the outside interference,(Dept of Just Us) and giving the family which they gave to Crump , the Police information that has not been released to the public and should not have been released to the family.
Why NOT.
and the inference is easy, THEY now have info of that night they did not have. They now can build a story around that info.
Does that make sense.
Since most people write in cursive everyday, they don't actually know the name for the form in which they write.
It is second nature to them...if they remember the name at all, it is from elementary school.
Kids these days do have a lot of things vying for their time, no doubt about it.
You honestly wonder how they can pass a college exam. You know they’re addicted to their phones. How do they study?
Strange times...
FYI: the word maroon has racist connotations. I don’t care, I just thought you might like to know.
They’re gonna need a bigger grill....;-)
She’s functionally illiterate (THIS is what liberals and their policies have done to black America) and she’s sitting there talking down to Zimmerman’s attorney. In her own words, “that’s real retarded.”
As Peter Johnson said on “Hannity” tonight, if that’s their star witness, I’d hate to see their worst one.
Much like the old joke about football players: “Three years ago, I couldn’t even spell NFL. Now I’m in it.”
Yeah, what’s in her mom’s mouth.
