A teenage friend of Trayvon Martin was forced to admit today in the George Zimmerman murder trial that she did not write a letter that was sent to Martin's mother describing what she allegedly heard on a phone call with Martin moments before he was shot.
In a painfully embarassing moment, Rachel Jeantel was asked to read the letter out loud in court.
"Are you able to read that at all?" defense attorney Don West asked.
Jeantel, head bowed, eyes averted whispered into the court microphone, "Some but not all. I don't read cursive."
It sent a hush through the packed courtroom.
Jeantel, 19, was unable to read any of the letter save for her name...
During nearly two hours of cross examination Wednesday in which he tried to raise questions about her version of events and accused her of telling several lies under oath, including about her whereabouts during Martin's wake.
"Under oath, you created a lie and said you went to the hospital?" asked West.
"Yes," responded Jeantel. She said she lied because she didn't want to see the body.
Jeantel became increasingly agitated and scoffed when West told her that she would have to continue testifying.
She is seen as a critical witness to the prosecution because she is the only person able to say that Martin claimed that he noticed a strange man following him and that he was scared. Jeantel said Martin described the stranger as a "creepy ass cracker."
Jeantel said Martin, 17, was walking home during halftime of the NBA All-Star Game when he became unnerved because he was being followed.

Based on what you said I went ahead and listened to that segment and you’re right; she claimed that her friend wrote it out for her so it would be legible. But even that seems weird because the easiest way to make something legible is to type it out and print it. The words she used should have been easy enough to spell. I’d like to know when that letter was written, in relation to Crump’s contact with her, and I’d like them to find out how the friend says it all went down.

Well, I personally am saddened by this.
Not because of the trial... but because this creature sitting there is the future of this country.

Can’t form an intelligent thought and cannot verbalize that thought into comprehensible words.
The few words that she does speak are ebonics that only ghetto hoods can understand... nothing resembling proper English language.
The only thing that this creature can do well is cash a welfare check and procreate. She and her like reproduce faster than any other group, filling society with more and more dumbed-down Obomanites for our future.
That is why I am sad at this lady or thing or whatever it is.

Hopefully she’ll get hungup in a perjury/obstruction charge because she can’t read under oath what she says she wrote and we’ll be supporting her in the ironbar hotel.

I’m thinking this isn’t about Zimmerman at all. It’s about the concept of using a firearm in self defense against someone who doesn’t have a firearm. I began to think that when Zimmerman was originally charged, when Holder originally got involved. I think the Justice Department is likely to come up with some theory of excessive force if Zimmerman is not found guilty, as a way of attacking the 2nd Amendment in self defense cases. It’s a landmark case.

The social media comments on the first coast news are disturbing and IMHO demonstrate just how much the Agitator-in-Chief has stirred up the ethnic hatred.
One comment, ‘if Zimmerman doesn’t go to jail all hell was going to break loose’. those doing the commenting have their “pictures” on their comments.

Not illiterate. Just really really stupid. I mean barely-manage-to-feed-herself stupid.
Kids nowadays don’t study cursive. I think it will get to a point where they don’t even write on paper at all. Just texting lazy textspeak. I’ll bet she can send a text on her Obamaphone in 2 seconds flat. Of course, it will be textspeak jibberish that doesn’t resemble English words but thats how she learned how to ‘holla’.
