Rabbi Yoel Schoenfeld, Rabbi of the Young Israel of Kew Garden Hills in Queens, New York, told Arutz Sheva that the decision Wednesday by the U.S. Supreme Court striking down key parts of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), paving the way for greater acceptance of gay marriage, was a major step backwards for humanity that goes all the back to the Biblical Bila'am, whose donkey spoke to him.

greater acceptance of gay marriage, was a major step backwards for humanity that goes all the back to the Biblical Bila'am, whose donkey spoke to him. Now we have donkeys who rule over us.

RE :”
Orthodox Jews are consistently politically conservative, are religiously observant, and share common values with Christians. Many of them are in fact long time freepers. Reform Jews are what you may be thinking of, 60+ percent who voted for Obama. They do not keep any of the Jewish Laws in their daily life.” I gotta coworker who follows all the laws especially dietary and he is liberal as hell and he even turned against Israel to side with Obama. Under Bush who he hated he used to defend Israel,
so I am still skeptical.
Are you in the category that you describe?

Polygamy is going to be an interesting question because while it will be illegal for Mormons it will be legal for Muslims.

Interesting a rabbi today comparing immorality to Balaam's day. So did Peter the Apostle in the New Testament:
"With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greedan accursed brood! They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness. But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkeyan animal without speechwho spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophets madness." (II Peter 2:14-16)
