AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry today announced a Special Session of the Texas Legislature will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1. I am calling the Legislature back into session because too much important work remains undone for the people of Texas. Through their duly elected representatives, the citizens of our state have made crystal clear their priorities for our great state. Texans value life and want to protect women and the unborn. Texans want a transportation system that keeps them moving. Texans want a court system that is fair and just. We will not allow the breakdown of decorum and decency to prevent us from doing what the people of this state hired us to do.
The special session will consider the following issues: Legislation relating to the regulation of abortion procedures, providers and facilities.
Legislation relating to the funding of transportation infrastructure projects.
Legislation relating to establishing a mandatory sentence of life with parole for a capital felony committed by a 17-year-old offender. # #

Governor Perry would’ve been an excellent President.
Go Texas...
He still can be.
WHOOP!!!!
Well, he still might, but we darn sure need him here in Texas! He stands up for us!
A special session for the Trans Texas Corridor?
Maybe for road repairs...I don’t know what that one is about. LOL!
Props to Rick!
I'd refrain from laughing. It isn't funny.
The company and the State plan to use eminent domain takings for private benefit. This is the kind of corruption that gets Republicans booted from office.
I knew he would call another special session ASAP. If those protestors thought they could win they were sadly mistaken. It’s very sad to see so many people so set on keeping their “right” to kill babies above all else. I am ashamed of liberal women including some in my family.
Do these new patient safety standards apply to all outpatient procedures such as plastic surgery and whatnot? if not, why not? just curious.
Way to go Gov Perry.. I, too, hope it works out better.
Just one will do.
Yeah1...Cordel Walker.
Lol.
I couldn’t agree more -— see my tagline
Do we all need to meet up at the Capitol on July 1?
There was a pro life lady that called in to the KLBJ morning show today. She said she found a few other like minded people in the gallery. They were spit on, got the middle finger salute, called names (she could not use on the air) and harassed in every way.
The tolerant left showed its real side. Agree with us or we will give you hell. I hope this bill is the first item on the agenda and keeps the dims from pulling the same stunt. Some people call that witch a hero. She and the dims broke the rules, but rules only apply to Conservatives.
The snarky left would agree with it now...not realizing what a loss it would be to the lesser 49 states.
Amen. Perry did the right thing by calling the legislature back.
