April Says That You're Responsible
You are a very detail oriented, together person. You're the type who is "always on." You take almost everything seriously, and it's hard for you to let little things slide. You hate feeling overwhelmed. You are extremely honest and sincere. You don't sugar coat anything, and you have strong opinions. Everyone who knows you knows your likes and dislikes. If you criticize something or someone, it's not personal. It's just you being you. Wow -- this really does "fit" me!

The day went fairly well, thanks. Morning commute was a little long, but evening commute was smooth.
I fell out of bed at about 4:00 a.m. yesterday morning and spent seven hours in the ER. Deep cut on my chin, a couple of impressive bruises and two broken teeth. Missed a day of work and I'm not a happy camper.
Getting a bed-rail posthaste - I've had enough of this nonsense.

October Says That You Are Reflective |
You are a very pensive person. You spend a lot of time thinking, and a lot less time acting. Some may consider you slow, but they never see how fast the thoughts inside your head are going.
You are neither an optimist nor a pessimist. You are the biggest realist in the world. You are able to see all sides to an issue or a person. You don't believe in black or white... it's not that simple. |

Served in Alaska on the DEW line in Galena and Campion when it was still a Territory and the “Cold War” was on and my CIC was an honorable man with the name of “Ike”.
Musquitoes still swarming in summer time? Fish still plentiful in the Yukon? First snowflakes still appear in late August or early September? Temperatures still dip below -50F in January? Russians still sending their jets screaming at sea level temporarily penetrating our radar just to piss off us?
Ah, America how I miss you.

Its time for the
Seattle Chamber Music Festival! We begin our first concert on Saturday, June 29. Thanks to the miracle of the Internet, you can hear the concerts live at the website of KING-FM. Ill be providing programs and links to the concerts through the summer festival. As we approach each concert, Ill introduce one piece per evening at the Canteen with commentary about the piece. On concert nights, Ill introduce the musicians.
First, lets get the pronunciation of his name correct. Arthur Honeggers (1892-1955) name is pronounced own-e-GAIR. He was French Swiss, trained in Paris, and was part of a group of French composers who called themselves Les Six. Francis Poulenc was the star of the group. For those who saw Abel Gances great silent film Napoleon when it was revived in the Eighties, Honegger wrote the score. He best known piece is an attempt to recreate a ride on a steam train, one of his favorite ideas. This is Leonard Bernsteins great recording of that piece.
Honegger: Pacific 231"
Next Saturday well hear a piece he wrote for piano and trumpet, here played by Wynton Marsalis.
Honegger: Intrada for Trumpet & Piano
