As the Pentagon unveiled plans to reverse a ban on women serving on the front lines, a poll released Wednesday found that most registered voters believe women should be eligible for a military draft if one is reinstituted.

The survey conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research shows that 59 percent believe women should be included if a draft becomes necessary again, compared to 38 percent who say they should not be included.

The poll was conducted by Mason-Dixon and the news site CapitalSoup.com to mark the 40th anniversary of the end of the U.S. military draft, according to the website.....

Screw that. Let the women serve and the men stand down. We’ve done our part. They want equality, give it to them! That will end the sexual harassment that is so “epidemic” in a mixed military these days too. (/s)

Now that the U.S. has an affirmative action military — women should be drafted, until they make up 50% of the forces. Furthermore, now that women have been “allowed” into combat roles; they should be sent to the front lines, until a proportionate (50%) number of causalities are female.

(Just taking an absurd situation to its logical conclusions.)

Well, this is pretty obvious. The strange thing is that I don’t think they’ve asked the women themselves.

Most women don’t want to kill and don’t want to go into the military. You have to be willing to kill (well, somebody other than your unborn baby) if you go into the military, and I honestly think that Obama’s attempt to get women on the front lines may be the thing that sinks him.

Even your Obama-loving hipster chick out in Brooklyn is not going to like this.

It's true though! They would just blame all the world's problems on their immediate family and stab them all to death with a kitchen knife. Starting with the kids. No need for expensive wars.

Liberals send young people to war to provide targets for Islamists. They will not be required to kill, only to BE killed.

Yeah, about those poll results...

I remember years ago when a cynical individual was put on a board full of idealistic fools that were reviewing scholarships with interviews for Army cadets. The fools were filled with all sorts of p.c. questions to ask these future officers, and of course demanded that they at least pretended to be leftists, forcing them to lie about their political opinions.

When they finally asked about whether the cadets supported women in combat, the cynic had enough, so he rephrased the question to one uncomfortable cadet.

“If you were in a combat branch and in combat, would you have a problem sending the women in your unit out to draw fire?”

Boy, did that board turn icy in a second.

The cynic was not asked to sit on that board again. He didn’t mind, because he taught a course in military history, one that the cadets were very intent on taking, though it was not mandatory in the slightest.

He was so anti-p.c. that he taught the truth. It not only made them much better officers, but might have saved several of their lives.

I don’t care if she “likes” it. Do you think that every man drafted during the Civil War, World Wars I & II, Korea, the Cold War and Vietnam “liked” it?

I have two daughters, one just turned 18 and the other is 12 years old. I support our military, but, a draft for women scares me half to death!

Women should be required to register for Selective Service and face the same legal penalties for failure.
When I turned 18, there was not requirement for SS registration, (Ford rescinded SS registration in 1975) SS in 1980 Carter reinstated SS requirement and backdated to those born in 1960. Men born between 1957-1959 never required to register. I, like many other men volunteered for military service and were exempted (by law) from registration because we served, yet later in life not having a SS registration record causes many problems. Employers deny employment to potential employees due to no SS record.

Darn right. Women should be eligible to be drafted, same as men, and should be eligible for all combat positions. Sounds crazy, eh? Well, it's no more crazy than giving women the right to vote, but shielding them from all of the responsibilities of citizenship. Women, as a whole, are some of the most irresponsible voters and it is primarily because they do not bear any consequences for their choices. Men not only bear the consequences for their own choices, but they bear the consequences for women's choices, too.

Either women are full citizens with all of the responsibilities, or they are coddled and have no vote. There is no sane middle ground.

The day they install a draft for women/girls is the day our family leaves this country.
