When a church in Philly, SF, or where ever becomes a sanctuary for illegals that are not being persecuted on religious grounds Catholics needs to put a stop to it.

That goes for protestants too right, or is that one of your double standard exceptions?

If you can’t fathom the stupidity of what you’ve typed then I’ll leave it at that. Can’t argue with and idiot.

Look at the pewforum exit polls, peeps!

Obama won because of the black/Hispanic vote. He took 95% of the black vote and 75% of the Hispanic. ‘nough said.

There is a certain arrogance that hails from the other denominations; denominations that would have been wasted by time if not for the Catholic Church.

>> How many Catholics in blue states donate and give to democrats that openly support abortion?

They’re Democrats first.

I venture most of them.

Yet have no data to support your assertion.

If you have data to support otherwise feel free to post it and I will gladly amend my thinking.

The old double standard. You can pull stuff out of your a**. Everyone else must provide data.

Behind every double standard lies an unconfessed single standard.

51.01% of the electorate voted for Soetoro. Thus the odds are that you yourself voted for him. Therefore, unless you can provide a notarized copy of your ballot then that's the fact that we'll be running with.

First, my apologies if I have offended any Catholics, my intent is not to condemn, but to discuss what I see as a non-Catholic and see why I don’t see anything different.

I have been to marches here in Texas.

Ok as I scroll down the link to images I see a couple signs here and there for a Diocese and Catholic group. A couple. The few signs you see do not have a large visual impact to politicians or joe citizen since they are few and far between.

As far as my reference to FR I am merely stating that Catholics here from my perspective do seem very engaged. I don’t know that rates being called a goober for reporting what I and others I know see or not see.

I do not mean to offend and suggest that Catholics are complicit or anything I am merely stating that attending marches/rallies is great but many non-Catholics see the Church leadership come out and say how we need to allow amnesty and no lay people dispute it. This is very apparent in the Catholic Churches here in Texas with a large Hispanic membership.

Absolutely not. I will call out any church or group that spouts that line. I left the Methodist Church years ago for those and other reasons.

I do not suffer from hypocrisy.

They’re Democrats first.

As I have argued elsewhere, Christians of any stripe who adhere to the democRAT Party are functionally idolaters. They have abandoned Christ and Christianity as a touchstone of truth, and turned instead to unholy trinity of Big Media, Big Education, and Big Government. That is their 'god', and it is a false god.

This is my point A.A. I do not know, but instead of trying educate me you call me names and assume I am a bigot. Without sounding crass, that is not very Catholic is it? I am merely asking tough questions that I have pondered.

My data I have is from here where lock step most Hispanic Catholics voted for Dims.

Just for your info I have never voted for any democrat in my 34+ years of voting. Say what you want.

Again instead of name calling give me reading material that will move my opinion.

Most people, OF ANY DENOMINATION, do give ANY money to politicians.

MOST Catholics do not attend Mass on a weekly basis. Around forty percent attend. Of those that attend a vast majority voted AGAINST Obama. Most of the ‘Catholics’ that voted for Obama haven’t darkened a church door in decades outside of a funeral or wedding.

That being said, you would be shocked at the force that many practicing Catholics have been using to bash the USCCB, their local bishop, and even Rome to throw the bums out!

The Church has a very fine line to walk. It is by far the largest religious institution in the entire World. They are also the largest Charitable Organization not only in the World, but specifically in the U.S. They own more Hospitals, colleges, health centers, food programs, work programs and religious centers than ANY other religious organization, BY FAR!

This means that they are in contact with the powers that be on a much greater rate than any other private institution. That also makes them the largest target for derision and attack. Evil people HATE Christians and the Catholic Church in particular. They hate them and work to bread division between those of good character. That is how they win. Look at how Obama tries to divide people by race, religion and class. STOP FEEDING THE OBAMA HATE!

So instead of maybe supplying me with links to information you had rather call me names for my opinion which is formed by what I see in my area. I will be happy to go out and do some research but since I don’t speak Spanish I cannot communicate with most Catholics down here that do support amnesty by their demographic voting records.

That is great illustration of my point, attack instead of refute/educate.

Educate yourself. You’re content with being ignorant and publicly flaunting said ignorance. For that you and your comrades will all have to answer.

Think what you want. Since you choose to be hardened then we have nothing else to discuss, so refrain from retorting.

I guess I will continue to operate and wonder under what I data I glean from down here.

http://www.thecatholicthing.org/columns/2012/the-2012-catholic-vote-an-early-assessment.html

Catholics in California went 62-38.
Catholics in New York went 47-53.

Catholics are about a third of CA, so this represents about 10 million Catholics. If they went 62-38, that’s 6.2 million vs 3.8 million, or a gap of about 2.5 million people.

Catholics in the US are 25 percent of the population, so 75 million people.

Catholics in the US went 51/48 for Obama. Given the overall population at 75 million, that would mean 38 million Obama supporters and 36 million Romney supporters.

I think you can see the math here. ;) 2.5 million more Catholics voted for Obama than Romney, but with the nation as a whole excluding California, Romney did better than CA.

Looking at the EC - Ohio, NY, FL, PA, VA and NC all went for Romney. Catholics didn’t cost Romney the election.

Thank you for the insight, I really had not thought about the angle of the hospitals etc... I do understand the reference to part time members, we have those as well. My wife gets on me when I find out how a fellow church member votes or their politics and I immediately detach from them and on occasion tell them. She says I need to be more forgiving to which I say no we don’t have time.

I just would like to see a study done, not just on Catholics, but Protestants too, as to why some vote the way the do and explanations. I bet that would be quite a read.

Nice pics on your page.
