‘What occupation?’ Bennett asks, rejecting Palestinian state

The idea of a Palestinian state has run its course and Israel must seek another solution to the conflict with the Palestinians, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) said Monday, joining a growing number of coalition members who have recently expressed firm opposition to the two-state solution.

“The idea of forming a Palestinian state in Israel has reached a dead end,” Bennett said at a meeting of the Yesha Council, the umbrella organization of Jewish communities in the West Bank. Never in the history of the Jewish people has so much energy been invested in “something so pointless,” and “we should put the idea behind us,” he added.

“The biggest problem is that the leaders of Israel are not prepared to say clearly that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people,” Bennett said.

Senior minister compares conflict to ‘shrapnel in the rear end,’ says entire Land of Israel ‘belongs to the Jewish people’ LOL!!

BTW, I did not realize that Bennett is a reservist in the Sayeret Matkal. My respect for him has suddenly quadrupled!

Two-state solution would work fine if the Palestinian people were not determined to destroy the Israeli people. Since they are, it’s ludicrous to pursue it.

In sound-byte, all the land belongs to Israel sounds good.

In reality, it’s ominous.

What happens if there is a one state solution?

All of a sudden you have elections where the Jewish population can’t reach a clear majority. All of a sudden you’ve got the Arabs in control of your homeland.

You all know what comes next.

A one state solution looks a lot like suicide to me.

The "Palestinians" had an opportunity for their own state when Israel was formed, but they demurred.

There is no such thing as "Palestinians," and they don't want their own state. They want Israel to not exist.

Already is a two state solution, it's been there since 1947. The palees muffed it (eg, mufti'd it) all up ever since, putting a nail in here and a nail in there along the way.

As the George Peppard character used to say on “A Team” TV show...I love it when a plan comes together.
Well now Naphtali Bennent is expousing what the Bible says about the land of Israel...sure enought there are soffers even in the government...but at some point there is only one solution... one side or the other has to win militarily and then negotiate a peace.
Course in the end...God will bring the victory to his people. But that land will belong to Israel the apple of God’s eye.

I favor putting a “Palestinian” state exactly where the British intended it in 1948. Of course, that’s smack dab in the middle of Jordan, but what the hey??

LESS THAN HALF A BILLION $.

Check your math; I think you dropped a couple of zeroes there.

I agree, but some folks seem to think that’s an outdated concept. I’ve seen it postulated a number times recently, that there should be a one state solution. Big mistake IMO.

Your math is cockeyed. You only paid them $50.

We would still have a clear majority even with Judah and Samaria. This is an old argument. As for Ghaza, Egypt annexed it once, I believe. They can have it back, and take responsibility for the MB degenerates there, whether they want to or not.

Don’t you have a problem like ours though, in that you can’t count on some of your populace to vote in Israel’s best interest? Are you sure a clear majority would survive after joining the two states under a officially larger Israel.

I do like the idea of Israel administrating the West Bank and Gaza. I think the lives of the people there would improve.

The Palestinians are not a bona fide tribe, family group, or nation.

The Israelis should just deal out to them, the only time-tested response.

Change the title, but it’s PAX ROMANA.

Enh. Send the “leaders” to Antarctica very suddenly and leave them there. Offer free airline tickets and $5000 bucks a head to any Pali family wishing to emigrate to the country of his/her choice, provided they bring a sworn statement from every woman in the household that they are: 1. not Jewish; or 2. Not being held against her will; and 3. offer any Jewish woman and her children not willing to go with safe asylum. Fraction of the price, and addresses some important concerns.
