Obama is Abrading the Social Fabric
American Thinker ^ | June 16, 2013 | Clarice Feldman

I have always believed that regardless of the laws of a nation, the social fabric that binds it is woven of mutual trust between the people and their private and governmental institutions. Once that fabric is weakened, the dangers to an ordered society are extreme. This week, the holes in the U.S. social fabric are manifest, and they are caused by the administration's ever-expanding lawlessness..

The statements by the high-tech self-exile Snowden set off alarms even among those who are willing to repose their confidence in the general integrity of our intelligence services. In my case, not because I believe his overblown claims of civilian snooping, but because I have doubts about the efficacy of the controls on access to the information gathered and my substantial, growing distrust of the president and the civil service.

In any event, with the FBI having ignored specific warnings from the Russians about the Boston bombers and the administration announcing it will provide military support for the Syrian rebels just as they in turn announce their affiliation with Al Qaeda, the need for this elaborate record-gathering becomes ever less clear. From the outside it seems as if in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Iran, and Egypt we are doing everything in our power to strengthen our enemies. What's the point then creating this expensive apparatus to permit listening to their communications as if we still regarded them as enemies?

For most of my lifetime, I believed that our Founding Fathers ("Founding Founders to the White House") set up a good -- if not infallible -- means of keeping excesses of the executive in check. And that to supplement those checks and balances, the system of Inspectors General created by Congress to audit operations and uncover misconduct and criminal activity would do much to punish and preventwrongdoing.

“This week, the holes in the U.S. social fabric are manifest, and they are caused by the administration’s ever-expanding lawlessness.”

The holes in the social fabric are being caused by a-holes in the administration. That pretty much sums it up.

I’ve said it before: ALL societies even totalitarian dictatorships are based on trust. In the case of a dictatorship the trust is if you DON’T do as you are told you can TRUST that a world of shit is about to descend on your head.

In a nominally free society the trust is also based on the “fact’ that the Government is based on laws and that from the lowest of the low to the President everyone is subject to the same laws and consequences to breaking them. This also applies to money or esoteric financial transactions like getting a loan for a car or a house. Break the trust and and it will all fall apart.

The saying “The bigger they are the harder they fall” surely applies to societies as well as to individuals. And as we’ve seen over the last few decades and even more so in the last few years. The trust has been sucked out and more and more people in this society no longer have much trust. Not over the “system”, Governments Federal, state and local, Financial, even Money and now... Now we don’t even trust that our privacy is secure, the Constitution... That wonderful document that limited government so that as individuals we had more opportunities to “pursue happiness”, has been so distorted and shredded, the Bill of rights has now become the Bill of suggestions.

For those of you who understand, “Alas Babylon!”

A good article, especially the fact that some of the most abusive agencies have had no inspector generals during the entire Obama administration. And the IGs are being coerced and even appointed by Obama himself.

The culture is in the gutter, true. But Obama is the result of primarily, I think, racial guilt, and the complacency of the populace taught to believe that the American political system is as close as one can get to perfection, and that nothing and nobody can subvert it. Bill Ayers knew it well when training his subversive puppet O.

Listen to what Peggy Noonan says in yesterday’s otherwise excellent essay in the WSJ: “Our government is not totalitarian. Our leaders, even the worst of them, are not totalitarian.” Naive and typical. Also, uninformed. All you have to do is read the statements of Valerie Jarrett.

“Obama is just the consequence of the zeitgeist” ... allow me to offer that given the complicity of media vermin, doing exactly the propaganda they are told to air, I would say little barry bastard boy is the consequence of a spittlegeist from the media enemy of we the people.

True, but damn... that should be obvious to everyone.

I doubt many in the old soviet union believed their media.

With all the talk of societal fabric, is it possible we are missing the thread by which this fabric is sewn together? I mean, 'someone' has set about for six decades to corrode the taboo structure of American society. By that I mean the moral taboos which helped to restrain the cancerous growth of sexual degeneracy, child sexual exploitation and murder, violence for the sake of being violent. I cannot think of a single society world-wide or throughout human History which has stood when their taboo structure was shattered as our is now found.

As an example of one taboo which has been thoroughly destroyed, consider how our Founders thought of the alive unborn. evil saunters across America.

The left wing of the Rat party has been abrading the social fabric of this country for over 50 years. Obama is not causing this, he is coincidentally exposing what his fellow leftists have done.

People like Bill Clinton and the Georges Bush claimed to be uniting the country, but that was all propaganda. Now that the left has destroyed the Republic and has what is likely to be permanent control of the government, they no longer need to pretend to be “uniting” anyone. They can simply concentrate on exterminating the opposition.
