Marco Rubio: We need to legalize immigrants so they can pay for border security June 13, 2013 | 10:00 pm
Why is it necessary to legalize the roughly 11 million currently-illegal immigrants in the U.S. before newly enhanced border security and internal enforcement measures are in place? Sen. Marco Rubio, the leading Republican on the Senate’s Gang of Eight, says part of the reason is that the federal government can’t afford to secure the border on its own and needs financial help from the immigrants themselves, in the form of fines paid when they are legalized.
Rubio made the statement during a radio interview after he voted against an amendment from Republican Sen. Charles Grassley that would have put off legalization until after the border is secure — a position supported by majorities of voters across the political spectrum. Host Andrea Tantaros asked Rubio why he opposed something that was important “to so many in the Republican party?”
Rubio’s first reason was that the U.S. has no other choice than to legalize the 11 million. Enhancing security first would take an estimated four years, and Rubio declared, “We cannot wait another four years with 11 million people living in this country illegally without knowing who they are or why they’re here.”
But there was another reason. “We need to register them as soon as possible, not just to keep the problem from getting worse, but we’re going to require them to pay a fine, and that’s the money that we are going to use to pay for the border security,” Rubio explained. “If we don’t get that fine money from the people that have violated our immigration laws, then the American taxpayer is going to have to pay for border security.”

agree I don’t; bother with Hannity now , he;s just puppet for the establishment , he;s no conservative and many of us vets found that out when he refused to talk about don’t ask or any social issues or marriage.
Why anyone watched or listens to him now and calls him a great American just shows me how pathetic this country has become
Now, we need the illegals legalized so they can pay for border security.
Wasn’t long ago that we needed the illegals legalized so they could bail out the Social Security system.
There was also a time in the recent past that we needed the illegals legalized so they could save the economy and create new jobs.

The proponents of legalizing illegals throw anything they can against the wall to see what might stick.
As for Rubio, he stepped into the gang of 8 and that stench will stick to him throughout this political career. A career that would stall out if he ever intended to seek higher office — unless he joined the permanent majority Democratic Party that will result from legalizing the illegals.
Jim needs an alert type of warning on here and when crap like this happens we get an alert and we all call the likes of Rubio or any other sell out on any conservative issues.
Move on pays their trolls to pretend they are different people and then they write in local papers or get on shows and always say “I am a republican but they have gone too extreme” or they call our reps and do the same.
If 300 of us today all called his office and did that every day for a couple of weeks then he would hear us .
Course that also takes all of us calling instead of just posting on here.

How about putting illegals on a chain gang for ten years while they do the WORK of building a barrier, then toss them over it when it’s done and let them come in legally.

I think the situation has everything to do the constant need to take guns from the law abiding.Everything you own or hold dear in your life,they want to steal/give away.
I have a better idea, Senator. Let's get rid of Obamacare and foreign aid money to people who are trying to kill us. There's your savings.
I personally think round them up and ship them back to their home countries and charge the cost to their home county.
