"Practicing Catholic" Nancy Pelosi Calls Late Term Abortion "Sacred Ground"

Pelosi: Late-term abortions 'sacred'

Pelosi falsely claimed two things in her response.

1) Legislation being considered in the House bans abortion past 20 weeks. Pelosi said the legislation would ban all abortions.

2) Pelosi said Gosnell is an isolated case, which isn't true. LiveAction and LifeNews have extensively reported and documented cases of abortionists all over the country who consistently operate in similar ways as Gosnell did.

President of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List Marjorie Dannenfelser released the following statement in response to Pelosi's comments.

“As a mother and practicing Catholic, I have a modest proposal for Mrs. Pelosi: that she consider the Church's teaching which says each life is sacred and reject the idea that each abortion is."

Senior Policy Advisor for The Catholic Association Maureen Ferguson has also released a statement in response.

“After witnessing firsthand the atrocious human rights abuses taking place inside America's late-term abortion clinics it is amazing that this did not touch Nancy Pelosi's heart. What we learned from the Gosnell trial and what we understand is going on inside other clinics is not only human rights abuse but it also puts women in harm’s way. The only difference between the Gosnell ‘after-birth’ abortions and legal late-term abortions is the location of the baby at the time of death. And contrary to Pelosi's extreme claim that the Franks bill is ‘disrespectful’ to women, the majority of women are opposed to late-term abortions according to a recent Gallup poll."

Let’s divert attention away from this rule issue and get back to cracking jokes about Pelosi.

But umbrage has been taken.

It must be dealt with!

While an awful lot of Americans would count him as an SoB!

Ain’t no way I’m interested in Pelosi’s crack. Come’on what’s her husband thinking when he sees that wrinkled old prune in his bed?

What we need to do is that next time we get out and get a candidate we all support. It doesn't have to be a Palin -- I just wish it had been Cain

Then we need to stop the bellyaching and vote for Cain

Romney was the worst choice -- as I said, I disliked him not for his religion but for being a RINO

I ‘disliked’ him for BOTH!

Someone who cannot discern a FALSE GOSPEL is NOT someone I want leading MY country when discernment is critically needed!

The Roman Church has no moral authority anymore...

...it has plenty of moral authority...it just refuses to use it..

Get in line behind the Episcopals, Lutherans, Methodists and other organized churches who not only believe in apostasy and heresy but practices them as well..

...a very sad and sobering commentary on the utter failure of structured faith, refusing to stand strong with moral principals, while trying to be all things at all times to all the faithful...

And the Roman Catholic Church does not usually excommunicate anyone’s ass; they pray they convert and are saved. We’re all sinners; keep that in mind... :)

...the RC Church won’t excommunicate known apostates sneering at the most incipient premise of its sacred creed (that of the sanctity of life itself), but falls all over itself in its haste to condemn Archbishop Lefevre, for simply asserting his belief that VatII might not have been such a great idea...says it all about the courage of those in charge...

...at any rate, praying and hoping for conversion of sinners without the hammer of expulsion is the same thing, really, as saying ‘come on in, however much of a scumbag you are, because we’re all moral relativists here devoid of the ability to make judgements’...in other words, a useless moral tack to follow...

Keep the cash flowing to the diocese, and anything goes....

...I have lived my adult life attempting to not believe that, and at this late stage am beginning to acknowledge the truth of it...

Nonsense. The Pope knew they were planning to attend the mass and could easily have alerted the servers. But he didn't. It was business as usual that day.

Nothing has changed.

When Biden gets hungry for The Host he just shows up at Dolan's place and afterward the two of them can yuck it up over the week's abortion figures.

Where is the Church's backbone on this? Some guidance from the top would seem highly desirable.

The Pope has more important things to do than watch out for a couple of pro-abortion Americans trying to receive communion at a Mass attended by thousands. These hypocrites will face their maker one day and it’s not going to be a nice conversation. But as far as “guidance from the top”, here it is. The Pelosi’s of the world ignore Church teachings. I guess the next thing to do is behead them.

One of the first things the Pope might do is bring the hammer down on Dolan.

I wrote, “might”.

So far...silence.

Nancy better not go see this new Pope , he’ll throw her out body and bones

She and Biden received Communion under the Pope’s auspices at his first Papal mass.

Yep. That horse has left the barn.

Just when I think these libs cannot get any more disgusting, along comes Nan with this latest abomination.

...one of a hundred or so priests handling out Holy Communion gave it to her, not the Pope himself... That the Pope would officially send her a letter telling her to stay away from communion is ridiculous.

No, your contention is ridiculous, and deliberately so. Nancy Pelosi influences millions of people, and as an influential member of Congress has spread the horror of late-term abortion more than almost anyone else. She is absolutely who the Pope should officially send a letter to, precisely because of the extreme seriousness of this issue and her position in society.

As for your contention that the Pope is not in charge of his own priests at his own mass, well then what good is this guy for, anyway? He's not responsible for anything - he looks the other way over a major representative of hideous mass murder, his priests do whatever they want and it's none of his concern. But hey, if you don't see him as the personal representative of Jesus Christ himself, you're a heretic.

Unlike many, I don't say the Catholic Church is dead. I just say it is what it actually does. Amazingly, that's what pisses Catholics off the most. But of course, Catholics are told by the Church what the actions of the Church mean, despite what they openly are.

So, allowing Nancy Pelosi communion is not a support of a mass murdering late-term abortionist who is legitimizing and legalizing the practice amongst hundreds of millions of people, and the Pope is not responsible for the priests at his mass, unless he is, and you'll be told when that is.

Okey-doke.

Oh I see now, Pope Francis, with his four or five days on the job, should have been the all-knowing micro-manager of the Vatican. And he’s an accomplish to mass murder also. Lord, what will you put on him when he’s been there a couple of months. I guess he helped Idi Amin feed people to the crocodiles.

And who in the hell are those millions of people Nancy Pelosi influences? The typical democrat can’t tell you who Nancy Pelosi is. You think for one minute that the average welfare drawing democrat could recognize Nancy Pelosi? Lord, help me. That’s about the funniest thing I’ve read all day.

No, not the Pope. The mass murders are being done by the late-term abortionists, who Nancy Pelosi supports literally in the name of Catholicism as a sacred issue. Those aren't my words, they are hers. And if you don't know who Pelosi influences, then your denial about American politics has reached the extent of eliminating you from current political discussions. It doesn't matter what you think of her - she is a Democrat power. You know, Democrat - Hillary, Obama - you may have heard of them. They also happen to be the ones supporting the millions of late-term abortions you think aren't worth the Pope's time - you know, the same Pope who sprang into existence a few days ago, because before he became Pope he knew absolutely nothing about the US political situation.

Hey, I really don't care what Catholics believe, as long as they're not allowed to burn people at the stake anymore. So knock yourself out. Just don't piss up my leg and tell me it's raining. You belong to a religion that says the Pope is the representative of Jesus Christ, then at least acknowledge when you're giving him a pass over millions of babies killed literally at the moment they were being born.

I know he's a busy guy. But not being Catholic, I didn't realize that subject was so low on his radar that he doesn't think it necessary to withhold a sacrament from one of its main political enablers.

And really, you're making my point for me - the Pope accepts Nancy Pelosi, so that's that. I'm the one who acknowledges it - you're the one who berates Pelosi. But who are you to interpret Catholic teachings differently than the Pope? Because it's not just that she was allowed communion - she has not been reprimanded, either.

Hey, I kind of like that - Catholicism-on-your-own. Read the teachings, do what you want, and the Church keeps its mouth shut and out of the way. In the end, it's between you and God. Except, doesn't that sound just a little bit like Protestantism?

You are a heretic, nothing more. Without those Catholics you hate (out of pure ignorance), there would be no Holy Bible.
One church came before the Bible and that was the Catholic Church. Now think on that one for a while and quit showing your ignorance about God’s Pilgrim Church on Earth. Unless
you have something to offer without ranting and raving like liberal hating protestants love to do, don’t bother replying to this post. I do not tolerate disrespect to my postings and I damn sure don’t tolerate disrespect to my faith.

The Pope didn't allow Pelosi anything except an audience and we don't know all that was discussed there. The Roman Catholic church is a bulwark against abortion, homosexual marriage, and a range of other sins and crimes. For the most part, it stands alone with a vast majority of major religions caving into these outrageous evils.

If you are so concerned about Pelosi why don't you write to the bishop of her home parish -- where the real authority lies regarding her continued partaking of the sacraments.

Of course, most of us would like to see her removed from the Church for her publicly stated positions, but going after people here on Free Republic rather than castigating those responsible for abortion and other immoral outrages is a waste of bandwidth and mostly counterproductive.

I do not tolerate disrespect to my postings and I damn sure don’t tolerate disrespect to my faith.

So my disagreement with you is heresy that deserves the liberal accusation of hate speech, your lack of any substantive reply means I'm ranting and raving, and last but not least, the magic liberal words of intolerance and disrespect are hurled in offended outrage.

And yet, my bottom line is that a true Catholic follows the Pope.

And THAT is "heresy"?

Face it - the Pope allowed Pelosi to receive communion not just generally, but at his own Mass. And he refuses to castigate or reprimand her publicly for her highly influential claims that - incredibly - late-term abortion is supported by her Catholic "faith."

Those are the facts. And it is also a fact that Catholics obey the Pope, or they aren't Catholics.

So screech all you want about being offended - you're just kicking over the table because you refuse to support the position of the Pope, yet still want to call yourself Catholic.

You call me a heretic for this? Well I call you a hypocrite - and a profound one, at that. So it doesn't surprise me in the least that you're accusing me of what you're doing. After all, what else can you do (given that humility is obviously out)?

So shriek away. Like I said, I'm just glad Catholics can't burn people at the stake anymore. But you know, maybe the reason they did at all, is because Catholics like you responded like you're responding when they got stuck. But don't worry about it - it's not like the entire world notices the hypocrisy or anything. So you're safe.
