Hoyer: No comparison between Obama, Bush secret surveillance
The Hill ^ | 6/11/13 | Mike Lillis

Posted on 06/11/2013 12:12:28 PM PDT by Leonard210

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday defended the Obama administration's domestic spying programs, arguing that, unlike the secret surveillance under President George W. Bush, the current programs appear legal.

"The difference between this program and the Bush program [is that] the Bush program was not sanctioned by law; this is pursuant to law," Hoyer told reporters in the Capitol. "I think that's a very important distinction that some people don't draw, but they ought to draw."

Is an unconstitutional law really a law?

There really IS no comparison between them.
Though the system shouldn’t have been put in place at all,

under Bush, the system was watching external threats to our country,

and under Obama, the system is used to watch and punish Obama’s domestic political enemies.

Straight from the mouth of the Democrat leadership. So we can be sure that the exact opposite is true.

Hoyer is an idiot. This is clearly unconstitutional and an unprecedented venture into marxist/fascist tyranny. Obama’s creating an enemies list and collecting data on millions of innocent citizens. It’s not Nixonian. It’s Stalinesque.

“The difference between this program and the Bush program [is that] the Bush program was not sanctioned by law; this is pursuant to law”

Translation: Bush is a Republican, Obama is a Democrat. Therefore Bush is bad, Obama is good.

"...expanding an operation begun under George W. Bush that was relatively measured, judicially redrawn and discontinued in 2007, but now, in the words of Matthew Vadum; “a warrantless surveillance program on steroids”—the time comes when we expect nothing less of a meretricious administration.

Bull-Pucky!!

Snowdon mentioned that originally, the NSA program was much “tighter” than the current program. This must be why Hoyer felt compelled to mess with the truth.

ONCE AGAIN THE OBAMA ADMIN LIES, LIES AND LIES TO PROTECT THEIR PRECIOUS DARLING IN THE WH.

I’m at PUKE already with these people!!!

Obama butt-kisser.

Your mistaken. He's more than a butt-kisser.

He has his head so far up Obozo's a$$ that he's breathing through Obozo's lungs.
