That was a common problem back in the day when good interface software had not yet been developed so you could use a desktop computer as a terminal!
I can’t remember who it is but there’s another FRiend around who can also attest to this scam happening at his/her college, too. You wouldn’t believe the hateful looks they gave Americans. They didn’t want to be here so so we, naive college kids, didn’t understand why they were here. They kept to themselves and no one knew how much English they knew.
It would be very surprising if no one who graduated in the class of 1983 hasn’t kept their own copy of the original graduation day program to compare to what Brietbart.com uncovered.
The Sundial no longer exists but I bet it still would be possible to find an editor from 1983 and ask if they accepted articles from non-students.
...why would we assume he was ever known as Soetoro?
I do not advocate assuming anything in this regard but, for one, would like to be rid of the foreign student argument if it has no basis.
It is more a hypothesis:
Attending either or both Occidental or Columbia (in whatever sense) as a foreign student, where he would have enjoyed financial benefits courtesy of the taxpayers, would seem impossible if he used the name "O". (We believe he used that name at his high school and at Harvard Law, with the tuition at both paid by private funds.)
I understand we do not have access to school records but if there is other credible evidence of which name he used at either, then one could conclude whether there is substance to the foreign student argument.
It would not seem possible to have acquired foreign student status with the name "O", and evidence of such usage could defeat the argument.
Regarding the Sundail
Would it have been acceptable in that era for a student author at one of the ivy league schools to use a pseudonym for an article written for the school magazine?
There IS a difference between graduating from, and attending. I have no doubt that Obama graduated from Columbia, my concern is whether he was simply awarded his degree for some reason. Or that they accepted transfer credits from some other university - besides Ocidental - that we are not aware of.
Hard to say of course, but I'm inclined to think it's legit. He seems to have gone through Punahou as Obama, so how could he enroll anywhere else under another name?
Methinks it all depends on WHO you believe him to be. Imo, he didn’t have any need to pose as a foreign student.

The doors were wide open...
Well there’s a picture of him with his Muslim roomate/boyfriend.
so how could he...
His entire history has answered that question and surprised us at every turn. He could easily structure a history if he is unburdened with the obligation to leave a evidentiary trail accessbile to public scrutiny.
How could he enroll anywhere else under another name?
Perhaps by simply slapping down a foreign passport with a name other than "O" along with a sad story about the rest of his records or even explaining away his high school name.
Thank you for the "all male" list you posted. Wonder how susceptible it was to manipulation and the purpose of its creation
Paging Edward Snowden. If Snowden exposes 0bama's fraudulent papers, I envision a parade with him sitting up in the back of a lincoln convertible, confetti raining down.. LOL
That alone doesn't put him on the Columbia campus, nor can we even be sure that the picture was taken in New York.
Easy enough to explain. He attended Columbia Agricultural University, a separate institution.
Nope. He went to Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow.
Now what the hell kind of weirdo name is Patrice.
What is remarkable is that he was college junior transfer student with a mediocre record from an undistinguished college when he entered Columbia, but left with a Master’s Degree in two years!?
